Beware of... everything!”
Where do I start? I booked two suite rooms, but they only gave us one and still tried charging the same rate. The suite room I did get didn't have hot water... in fact, the last day I had to shower in another room! The suite also had a terrible mold smell, so in the end, the smaller room was better. Plus, the taxi that was ordered by the hotel overcharged us for the fare to town, double what the Uber was! A very bad experience all around... except for the excellent coffee & sandwich shop inside, which was owned by a very nice family.

Pictures are old, not current condition. The staff was extremely nice and I feel bad for the position that they are in. The place could be really nice but has been lacking in maintenance for awhile. It is not horrible or scary, just needs more upkeep. I would stay there without a problem for a night or two, if I was just passing through town. The pool needs to be drained, cleaned and repainted. Only 1 bar restaurant and coffee shop were open while I was there. Suite was nice and big, but carpet needed to be cleaned, furniture needed to be updated. Again, the staff was amazing and doing the best that they could and I saw signs of renovations going on.

1. Tried to double charge me 2. Staff unhelpful and reluctant to help 3. Whole place looks nothing like the photos. Needs a massive overhaul. 4. Most of the facilities it claims to have do not exist. 5. The ones that do exist have poor selections and terrible opening hours. 6. You'll be ignored for the first 5 minutes you stand at the front desk whilst the staff are on the phone. 7. Most of the staff are not cut out to work in hospitality, this hotel can't get anything right. 8. The breakfast is terrible served on dirty plates with stained coffee cups and runs out of the low quality food pretty quickly.

I know you're looking for a bargain, but take a deep breath and really think about what you want. My partner and I were almost scared of our room, but also in a good enough mood to laugh about it. The hotel is a decade past when the last renovation would have been necessary, and you feel dirty just being in the room. Sheets are torn, no towels in the room, everything is damaged, hair on the floor, broken blinds with a clear view of the shower from the streets... It's far too expensive for what you get; do not recommend

Super run down I felt extremely unsafe my back door was unlocked and wide open (I was on ground floor) everything was falling apart the room was dirty and my sheets were not changed do not stay here

The bathroom looked like a $40 motel. Definitely The look of a Bates Motel type murdery place. Worn carpet. Cracked tiles. This is licensed by Wyndham to a local operator. The pool was nice and the sheets were clean. They charged $27 pp extra on $137 for breakfast. The other hotel I stayed in at San Jose included for $90 and had a great breakfast. This place is a sham.

Door was paper thin and there was noise and people screaming in the corridors all night and woke us up multiple times.

Comfortable and smooth”
We needed an overnight stay at a hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica on our way from the USA to Montezuma, Costa Rica. The Wyndham Herradura was near the airport, moderately priced, and highly comfortable. We loved the room and wished we had been able to spend more time there.

Decent option, well located for airport transfer / transit”
This is a nice hotel with slightly faded room appearance. Rooms are big, and the bed is comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating, finding a mini-fridge for me on request. I've stayed here before and would again if being near the airport and access to Heredia are important considerations.
