Central and serene hotel”
The room was spacious with a tall ceiling. Although it was cold outside it was very nice and warm in the room. The view was towards the garden and even though it is not large, it really fit well. There is no elevator. The spa is not very big, but it was never crowded. It is an indoors type. There is also a small pool for the feet just as you enter the place. The breakfast was very good. The are some luggage boxes, that you have to pay for if I remember correctly. But not meant for XL luggage size. There was also some bus stopping right in front of the building, seems like it drives to the train station, but might just as well walk. The position cannot be better, you are right in the middle of everything, just as you step out. Until next time!

This hotel has a beautiful interior with tatami style flooring in the corridors. The room I stayed in was maybe the best decorated I have seen in Japan and the bed was very comfortable. I had an excellent sleep there.

Good location Good staffs Clean and big room”
Easy to find the hotel because it is located around the Yubatake area. 1st floor in front of the hotel is sweet shops and foot bath. Next from the foot bath is hotel restaurant. Check in counter is the same one as cashier counter of the restaurant. Staffs are good in English. No private bath in the room but there is private toilet. At fist floor of the hotel, there is onsen, separate female and male. There is cold water machine. At the second floor, there is free hot coffee and teas. Yukata be provided in the room. If you go outside , u have to leave the key with staff. After check in, you can use the coin locker to leave the stuffs.

As the hotel is right next to the springs Kusatsu is famous for, it also means it is subject to the iconic smell of rotten eggs, although this was to be expected. All in all the rooms are big, new, well designed and good for value, they offer food baths and their own Onsen as well as a restaurant and free soft drinks. All great for exploring town or just relaxing on site.

Next to Yubatake which is lovely but also very smelly. Staff are amazing and the room is nice but the hallway is loud

Not for senior citizens who cannot climb stairs”
2 storey bldg quiet n right infront of Yubatake. However, there is no shower facilities in most rooms, I.e., need to book ur private use bath from 3pm onwards, if u need to shower b4 u sleep, u’ll have to wait til pass midnite. Breakfast is standard n limited… otherwise it’s a nice ‘bed & breakfast’. There are 4 rooms on the 1st floor, so if u can’t climb up n down, make sure u book early to reserve ur room on the grd floor.

Cooking smell inside room”
I had the worst room in the hotel. It is facing the back alley with a restaurant nearby. Of course there is NO view and I cannot open the window. But even so, there was cooking smell inside my room.

Price was a bit high due to the holiday season but should it be lower, then this place is highly recommended. Facilities are pristine despite the fact that it has been a couple of years since it was renewed. Nice cafe in the ground floor, very central location and easily accessible if you're in town. Shared bath, but you can "rent" the entire bath room between 1am and 5am

Quaint Hotel In Touristy Area”
The hotel is surrounded by lots of attractions! Busy place but it's quiet inside. The footbath is free for hotel guests but payable to the public. It's nice to soak our feet after a busy day away from the crowd. :) Rooms are comfortable and hardly anyone using the onsen after 9pm!

Right at the centre of Kusatsu Onsen. Though no private bathroom (yes for toilet) but public bath is convenient (can use it privately after 1.00am). Nice to stay here.

Can't pay by Unionpay. Although booked without breakfast,but actually simple breakfast is provided. High expectation with in-room onsen but feeling strange, may be it is at ground floor. Public bath pool is not large, look more than a bath pub.
