Taigh Duitseach

Our family of five spent two nights at Taigh Duitseach on our 10 day road trip through Scotland. We could not have asked for a more perfect Isle of Skye gem! Located in Portree, Taigh Duitseach is an excellent hub for visiting surrounding sites on Skye. Our hosts, Jim & Paulline were most gracious. We truly enjoyed speaking with them during breakfast each morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and well furnished. From tea, milk, sugar and a kettle..to shower caps and toothbrushes…these hosts thought of everything! Location is within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. If bringing your own vehicle, rest assured…there is plenty of parking on site at Taigh Duitseach. This is definitely one of the places we will remember always, and cannot wait to visit again! :)

There was nothing we disliked about Taigh Duitseach.

Very clean and cosy. Welcoming, and very minimalistic decoration. Make you feel like home. Very spacious and every detail is taken care. Bathroves, sleepers, soup, tea, nesspreso coffee machine, etc etc. It was just amazing 10 walks walk to portree main street. Easy parking, 10 out of 10 I definitely recommend it! AMAIZING!

breakfast was serve in a very cute basket on the door I loved the detail but we items serve were very high sugar products. Croissants, cereals, jams, etc. My boyfriend and I do not eat proceed food or refine sugar that we struggle to eat the breakfast at was everything with lot of sugar. Personally I believe you should provide different options to choose. Like no sugar breakfast, or no carbs etc. More healthy options like toast, cheese, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, fruits that will be great.

Wow what can I say, a hidden gem! Beautiful, fresh, bright, vibrant room. Complimentary slippers for use A room for storage, an area to sit and relax on a sofa with the most beautiful views of Skye. The bathroom had dental kits, cotton buds and make up swabs to use A breakfast basket each morning with cereal, fresh juice, milk, fruit, pastries and more! Plenty of free parking 5mins walk to main street Portree, perfect for an evening stroll to the harbour. Jim and Pauline were attentive, available via phone whenever we needed, thank you for an amazing stay!

Nothing! Perfect stay

The accommodation was beautiful - tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Every need was met. Coffee machine and box of teas and instant coffee and water all supplied. Large comfortable bed, modern lighting and plenty storage facilities. Dressing gown and slippers were available. Bathroom beautifully designed. Large shower, thick towels, shampoo and shower gel all supplied. There was a wide selection of cerreals, toast, croissants jams and jellies available. Every need was met. Pauline, the hostess, was exceptionally kind and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We will definitely go back again because we enjoyed it so much. Thanks Pauline!

Nothing. Everything was excellent!

Loved this Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were very clean and they did a lot of little extra things like providing slippers, toothbrush and other toiletries. The shower was wonderful. The room size was adequate for what we needed as we spent much of our time outdoors. The breakfast they served was excellent, they had a lot to choose from. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The bed wasn’t the softest but none of the places we stayed at while in Scotland had soft beds, I think they just like their beds firmer. Not really a bad thing.

The place was modern although we found the room slightly small. The beddings and general amenities of the room were like a good hotel which we were pretty impressed with. The host was lovely and she gave us a very cute picnic basket for breakfast each morning. Note that with the covid measures she would leave it out for us early in the morning to grab directly. The rooms were not cleaned every day but anything we needed was well provided for (such as fresh cups) - it was a good system. The place was very close to the centre and therefor convenient. We enjoyed our stay here and would def recommend it.

The property was nearly new and was exceptionally clean. Pauline was very chatty and friendly and provided us a very good Continental Breakfast. Our room was spotless and even wine glasses were provided for us to use if we wished. We wanted to stay longer but already had somewhere else booked for the following night.

We had room for 3, very spacious and immaculate. Place seems brand new and beautifully decorated. Great walking distance to centre and plenty parking. The breakfast was lovely. I don’t agree with those who complained about the breakfast. We’re in a pandemic and this is the Scottish highlands, choice isn’t going to be huge. Yet we found plenty in the basket to enjoy. The owner is doing there best and found it cute in a little basket.

I think they forgot our dates of stay and had to contact owner to bring fresh towels and toilet paper by day 3. No big deal, just little communication maybe as we weren’t sure if the next morning we’d get them or not.

It was the most amazing place. We loved it so much. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of everything. We could even walk into town from there in the evenings. The room is so clean and everything you can think of they provided. Including shower caps and iron.

Everything was great about this B&B and the breakfasts were superb. The hosts Pauline & Jim couldn’t have been friendlier. The place was lovely and clean with lots of little extras that make all the difference and only a short walk into the town centre of Portree if you wanted to leave the car. If coming back to Skye I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect. The location is great, 10mins walking to town, the room was clean, tidy with good amenities. We loved the shower. The breakfast was very good and delicious, the bacon one of the best. I would love to stay here again!

We were impressed with the warmth of our welcome and the kindness of Pauline, who went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable.The accommidation was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well appointed.. The breakfasts were excellent. - fresh produce and a good variety.

Very clean and tidy, very friendly welcome and fully informed of facilities etc. Although a continental breakfast, the choice was excellent. The lack of a hot breakfast made no difference to the breakfast experience. Thank you.

Nothing to dislike, all very good.

This stay is a dream - beautiful, clean, warm apartment, tasteful furniture, comfortable beds, great location. But the most important are the hosts - nice people who always smile and want to help if there is a problem. And the breakfasts they serve in the cozy kitchen - wonderful!

We love everything about this stay. The people, breakfast, room, location, everything basically. I love the fact that it is very close to Portree town where the bus station is located. Just 5 minutes walking. Along the way, you pass through a high school, the river with a walking trail beside it and many more. The room is flawless and lovely. I slept well for 2 nights even though it is opposite to the main road because it is well sound-proofed.

Absolutely nothing

The apartment was comfortable, very clean and had everything we needed .. Very good view of the apartment, great location close to Portree center. Breakfast very good and Arlin very kind, smiling, discreet and helpful. Thank you very much.

Everything was perfect

Everything was perfect! The room and the bathroom was very clean and very pretty! The hosts are extremely kind and nice and generous! The breakfast was really good and nicely served! I would really recommend everyone to stay here if you have the chance.

Jim & Pauline were fantastic hosts. Friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was particularly nice with a wide variety of choices. We were delighted that there were lots of gluten free options for our son who is coeliac and we had confidence that Jim & Pauline understood cross contamination risk so we didn’t need to worry about that.

With it being a new build house we could hear through the wall to the kitchen and any upstairs movement. Not an issue for us but worth mentioning.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a nice size, clean and comfortable. Location was great

You would be hard pushed to find something to dislike. If I had to make 1 suggestion, it would be good to have a mini fridge in the room maybe
