We booked a 5 night stay at the Terra Rika to unwind and enjoy Pagudpud, we ended up shortening the trip by half due to the state of the hotel. The swimming pool is unusable, there are no diving possibilities at the hotel despite 'Dive Resort' being in the name, and worse we had a cockroach infestation in the room. I ended up killing 7 cockroaches in 3 days there. To their credit, the staff tried to help as much as they could, but given the price of the rooms this is not acceptable. The hotel is in a state of underinvestment and it gives the feeling the management are trying to milk as much money as possible from the decaying infrastructure. Overall, you should definitely avoid this place. We were happy to leave, and to move on to Palawan and Cebu.

Off season Pagudpud is empty”
A three star hotel in Pagudpud in the off season such as July isn't much to appreciate. If you combine all the guests in all the Pagudpud hotels together in the off season you will only have a few people. Most hotels are closed. We were the only people in the hotel except for a few strays that went there on the weekend for a night. Breakfast was good, fast, and included in the price. They were the only hotel willing to offer a room online so we chose them. Other hotels are still open but you need to knock on doors to find out if they will rent you a room or not. The beach is fairly clean but does have packs of stray dogs running around. Motorcycle taxi was easy to arrange to and from the bus station for 50 pesos. It is three star by the local standards.

Little Dive Resort Up North”
The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and attentive. Safe parking for vehicles. The dive shop is still developing and there's still a significant lack of dive facilities. The hotel is right there on the amazing beach with fantastic view of the windmills.

The place is near the Beach and near other beach hotels. Rooms are large enough for the number of heads indicated in the booking. The structure looks like a refurbished old building and although most of its bathrooms are working, it needs some new painting and further cleaning. Food is ok though not comparable to branded restaurants. Its a diving resort so i was expecting that there is a diving instructor anytime, unfortunately there was none and they said it should be pre-arranged since the instructor will still come from Laoag which is 1 & 1/2 hour ride. And they dont accept credit card which should have been posted in their website.

Terrible bathroom”
Terra Rika's location in Pagudpud's Saud village is ideal for beach lovers, but I feel that the other hotels beside it has better facilities (although at a price). My biggest complain about this hotel is its bathroom. The bathroom's faucets were full of mildew, and the water pressure is not that strong. The bathroom also has a bathtub, but I doubt anyone would dare use it. The food they serve, although a bit pricey, is commensurate to the price because of its taste and amount of serving. The hotel has friendly and courteous staff, though.

Location is nice, but no beach. We don't dive so don't know how that is. We were there for only one evening, while on a road trip. Room was supposed to have hot water, but it didn't work, they did bring us a bucket of hot water to wash with, which was no big deal to me.

Overpriced and poor room”
Room overpriced compared to other places stayed, though it was holy week. Had to ask for soap and toilet paper, room unserviced for the whole 5 days (we asked for it to be cleaned one day, leaving the key and returned at end of day to find it not done). 'balcony' 400 mm with no access due to locked sliding door. Very noisy - used earplugs every night. Restaurant not great- made mistakes with order several times. Dive shop closed so unable to rent snorkelling gear. The place has become rundown but the staff are lovely. Good location on the beach front.

The room was quite big and clean. The attires was comfortable even for a European. The breakfast ist expandable with bacon and eggs for a supplement amount. The beach its nice but often windy. We had a parking possibility direct by the side of the hotel.

after reading many reviews I prepared for the worst. We booked 2 days before, during Xmas-New Year's so only 3 places were available. Was a very nice experience overall. Only problem was our room - suite - was only one without hot water for 3 days. Breakfast pancakes/omelettes were nice, other food very good, service not slow at all. Ogie in restaurant is a great guy. Main desk guy was very helpful and always around - sorry I did not get his name. Room was big but 2 lights did not work - all they needed was a light bulb! Heard that our room was never cleaned because we did not request it. When we did they did a great job. Overall, watching the service/check-in from the outdoor lobby while doing internet, I think they did an excellent job.

Lesson Learned: Abided by reviewers”
The beach is very close to this location. An important lesson was learned by going to this hotel. Before arriving I briefly looked up the reviews of the hotel from prior residents, these reviews showed poor or sub-par reviews for the place. The lesson review before purchasing. Upon arrival, my girlfriend and I were met with confusion to our actual reservation. After a short time, we were led to our room. The room was small and first of smelled of mold and albatross as the air conditioner was justs turned on. The room had a fridge but had to be plugged in (Note: the average fridge takes over 8 hours to work properly), it also had a tube TV with no HDMI input. Once you are here two choices of food both of which are poorly kept and expensive. Both sport a large menu with half or more of the items not available. WiFi is only available in the outside lobby area. The beach is very close to this location.

Only good thing about terra rika hotel is the location. But the rest is just not nice...from the staff trying to rip you off, filthy lots of cockroach in a room, its horrible i wont recommend terra rika hotel.

Mixed Feelings”
They mixed up our booking. We stayed first night at a room with two beds, which is ok as it is nearer the ocean. However, we were not happy with the room they moved us in afterward. Rooms not cleaned regularly. Only cleaned after we call in a few times to get it cleaned . . .

The hotel needs to upgrade and repair the facilities. There is no hot water in the shower and the bathroom have that smell of stale water, making the room smell bad even if it is clean. It seems that there were great plans for this hotel that never materialised or it once was a good hotel that have seen bad days. From our room on the second floor, we heard loud discussions from downstairs at night. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Peak season experience”
We paid for Php6500/night for a very small room that has no hot water, malfunctioning aircondition and no cellular signal or wifi. It was definitely not worth the price if you will compare it to other hotels in the area. We went here during Holy week so its peak season. The breakfast was also disappointing as I expected much more than a piece of longganisa and egg.

I got the family room with a viewing deck... Apparently, the viewing deck was covered by a building thus, the beach view was covered. The 2 beds were ok but there were No towels issued to us and hot water for the shower was not working.. Had a difficulty sleeping though because the noise outside are heard from the inside of the room. A small swimming pool is located at the 4th floor which I think is very nice since you can use this during the night when it is no longer safe to swim outside during the night...

the service in the restaurant was the worst i have experienced in any hotel ive stayed at.our first morning when they finally decided to serve us took 46 minutes was amazed to see them putting meals on empty tables but it only gets worse next morning tok 52 mins for bacon and eggs when we were the only people in the restaurant . room clean was done at 915 pm they came and grabbed our room key from us when we were eating dnner in resort next door unfortunately they couldnt provide dry towels as all their towels were in the wash.

Good place to stay overnight only.”
Good place but if you drive, expect a very congested parking area. The right of way is too small and there are a lot of small similar type hotels in the area. The hotel itself is satisfactory. They don't have enough manpower. Only 1 girl in the check in counter. The room they gave us was like a damped room where you don't know when was it last used.
