The place was really nice for the price we booked it for! The staff were really nice to us and very accommodating. The pool was under construction when we went there so I'd definitely give the place a second try because of the pool. Best feature were the beds. Loved the pillows, blankets and the bed. They've got everything covered from calling you a tricycle to having an on call masseuse! Also, Gina - the waitress during breakfast and lunch - was really great.

Cute hotel/ nice staff”

The hotel (resort style) is very cute and well manteined. They are building a pool, that will add even more value. It's in a quiet area, what means you need to walk/ get transport to the busy and crazy Alona Strip (we didn't mind the walk). They should include a little fruit bowl in the breakfast and real coffee (not instant, please!). Staff is very friendly :)

Best value in Alona Beach”

The staff at Alona42 is the best service we encountered in the country. Gina in particular was absolutely wonderful to be around and made sure everything was always taken care of. The room was much nicer than any other we stayed at for this price point. We moved around a lot during our stay and this was by far the best. Book it now!!

Extraordinary service!”

Was set to book at a different property after reading online reviews and decided to switch to B&B’s and on the site I was looking at Alona 42 came up, it looked like a hotel but was somehow listed incorrectly. Anyways it had great reviews and I booked it and oh how I’M GLAD I DID!!!! First off it is in a quiet area and only a very cheap ride to the central part of town (3 minutes). I stayed in their smallest (which was wonderful) to their top of the line apartment (an absolute bargain), the rooms are bright, clean, well appointed and very near the restaurant and office for any needs. The prices of everything were among the best I’ve ever seen. The free breakfast is on a menu so you actually have a choice which is better than the usual buffet line. The entire staff is extremely warm and accommodating. Now for the best, I had the pleasure of being almost “personally” taken care of by their one “person” show Gina whom almost runs the show, bar tends, takes food orders, arranges transportation, sets up dat trips etc etc! Gina is one of the few Filipinos I’ve met whom has been around the world and can give an “honest” opinion of all things PH and she didn’t steer me wrong in my stay at Alona 42, in my thirty years of world travel I have yet to encounter hospitality on this level, almost like a personal concierge!!!!

Very nice little resort with amazing staff”

We stayed 2 nights at the property and we only wish we could have stayed longer. The room is very comfortable and clean and the staff is simply amazing! I had a foot injury and they brought me ice several times. They even checked on me to see if I was doing OK. The garden is also very nice and it's just a short stroll to the beach, 6 minutes on foot. The shower was also very nice with plenty of hot water. I will definitely stay here again.

Relaxing”

The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable. The place is a bit of a walk to Alona beach. The fastest way is not safe at night. We just stayed for a night but overall we enjoyed our stay and we were able to relax after a very long trip.

Worth it”

We enjoyed our stay in Alona42 even though we just stayed for a night. We stayed on a room good for 6. It is not that spacious but just enough. The pool is relaxing and they have a good view for the sunrise. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The only thing I don’t like is the low pressure of water in the shower but overall we enjoyed our stay. The place is budget friendly, clean, comfy and worth what we paid for.

Neat, clean and comfortable”

This 1 bedroom apartment style hotel was really nice and spacious. It had it's own kitchen and a living area and balcony to relax when you're not out and about. It was neat and clean and quiet, also within 8-10min walk of beaches, shops and restaurants. Staff was good and helpful if you had any questions. I do recommend you go out and buy your groceries and dish soap and sponge just to wash your dishes as it was not provided. The only downside I had was the stand in shower... It was a bit cramped but I was by myself so no big deal

Would definitely recommend. Excellent room and bed, great shower pressure, lovely staff and enjoyed the free breakfast, good location as it’s close enough to Alona Beach and yet very quiet

The location it’s a bit far from alona beach,5-10min walk, but in the night it’s quiet took the motorbike spend around 25~50peso, next the build there have a Vanilla Sky Resort, the pizza and pasta was good

Good for price”

This hotel was quite nice the location is good if you want to be away from the nightlife the beach is close but a quieter area you have to walk down a bit for restaurants and bars etc. We only got bottled water the first night we were there and our room wasn't made up a couple of times I wouldn't order food in their restaurant as its really not very good. We hired a bike from them at 600 a day but it comes from another company so it might be worth looking down the road also we booked the ferry to bohol through them and reception told us it included luggage but it didn't and also their taxi to the ferry port is 400 but if you walk up the road you can get. It for 300

Great place to base yourself in Alona Beach”

The rooms are spotless and are very well maintained. Fan and aircon in the room. Bottled water replaced every day. Comfortable beds. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there's a small restaurant serving drinks and food all day. The location could be considered "excellent" if you want to be away from the louder parts of Alona beach. To get to the bar & restaurant area you need to walk 10 minutes. But there are other places to eat close by. To get to the beach, you only need to walk 5 minutes to the opposite end of the beach from the main resorts. It's also quieter here and the water is less crowded. Highly recommended.

Lovely!”

This place is slightly out of the main centre and as a woman travelling solo, I was at first I was a bit daunted at the location and the darkness. Do not let than put you off. I found it very easy to get about, the walk was fine and safe (use your phone light) or the tuk tuk option is easy and cheap. Room was lovely and the property itself very secure. Definitely value for money.

It's an OK place”

Nothing spectacular They will charge you for a third person in the room whereas some other hotels will not. That adds to the price. It's quite bit of walk to the beach - despite it's location on google maps The short-cut path to the beach is dark at night - bring light source. The normal route is back out to the main road and towards the beach again
