It's a budget hotel with free street parking. We parked our car there for 2 nights without any issue. The family room was big, but we heard wind howling the whole night during a storm.

Amazing location !”
Good points: great location, opposite a park, free on street parking, Tesco supermarket within 5 mins walk, also Weatherspoons and other shops, staff very friendly, was a good price and had a good power shower. Bad points: room was small, literally fitted a double bed and a bedside cabinet, the tv hadn't been cleaned, there were cracks on the bathroom floor, the hotel was dated, but my biggest issue was that the blind would not come down. I could have contacted the staff, but I was exhausted from travelling and thought it would be okay...the sun came up at 4am, which woke me up.

Appalling !!!!”
It said online arrive anytime after 2pm .. I arrive have to wait outside for 15 mins for staff to arrive I knock 15 mins later not ready hold on can you see the sign we start letting guests in at 2.30pm onwards can you wait ten mins then can you just wait a few minutes whilst I check the rooms Man comes back quite quickly and I sign over my details including provisional driving licence number witch is a first staying in other places they don’t ask for this . Then I get to my room satisfied for the price was quite nice but place has a serious fly issue !!!! Then I get in the shower as you do but they forgot to let me know that if I don’t shut the bathroom door the fire always will go off so I’m in the shower 30seconds and someone knocks o my door so I open the door with just a towel around me!!!! To be told I need to have the door shut if I have another shower !!! Of course I didn’t bother having a shower thier again !!!! Nightmare and bad hospitality should have pre warned instead of shouting up the stairs whilst your gf knocks on the door to tell me !!!! Just to make things worse the amount of noise in that place is ridiculas and on top of that the house keeper comes knocking on my door at 10.15 am when I have up untill 11am to leave !!!! I guess no one let her know it’s rude to knock on paying guests doors !!!!?? Never going back their for sure !!!!!

Dear Patricia, First of all, you know that check-in is from 2:30 pm, we have a notice at the door plus we have information on line. Secondly, we asked you to wait few minutes, so we can comply with our checks with regards to Covid-19 safety ( clean rooms). In fact, I did check you in at 2:15 pm ( 15 minutes earlier than our checking time). Thirdly, in the room we have a huge notice on the bathroom door explaining the situation with the shower room. You need to have the bathroom door shut while taking the shower otherwise the steam activates the fire alarm. It is not our fault you never read the big sign on the bathroom door. Fourth, during summer time, the windows are open for fresh and cool air, it is common to see flies getting into the room. Finally, our housekeeper did knock to check if you were inside, some guests are leaving earlier than 11 am, she was not rude neither asked you to check-out at 10:15. When you write a review, it is polite to state the true story as it is.

Demi, the owner of the hotel, is so considerate and kind. The family room is so spacious and tidy. Linens are clean. Bathroom is modern. So, if you are looking for a family hotel room to stay in Edinburgh, Adelphi hotel is the answer.

Booked for my parents”
I booked this hotel for my parents. I don't really know what they look for in a hotel but I am as tight as a duck's bumble so booked this place for them. As you can see from the pictures, I'd assumed they weren't going to be hopping on the love boat but the room supposedly met with their modest approval. Their gratitude at not having to pay for the room certainly extended to at least not moaning about it too much. The location was apparently fine which was good because when I told them I'd booked a hotel in Leith you'd think from their response that I'd booked them into an open sewer in downtown Basra!

When I read reviews I was worried. But this quaint hotel really isn’t that bad for the price you pay. Reviewers need to stop expect 5* when booking budget accommodation. The room was small but suited us. It had a double comfortable bed, the window opened and closed. The tv was worked and was fairly sized. The shower room small but worked and cleaned us And did it’s job. The staff were polite and our room cleaned daily during our stay with fresh towels. We only stayed there of an evening, was out during the day. Close to city centre with only a very short bus ride. I would recommend if you don’t need 5* room and just need a comfortable stay.

Perfect location for a visit to Edinburgh, ok value for the money”
Perfect location for a visit to Edinburgh, quiet, a park nearby, free car parking along the street, bus stop within 100 m, or walk to Edinburgh Castle in about 45 minutes. Simple room without anything fancy but you get what you pay for and everything you need (bed and bathroom) if you're not picky. Continental breakfast available (not included).

Great location, helpful staff, big room and great value of money”
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone as it's very convenient to access to the city center, bus stop is located within 1 minute walk, big park in the opposite and tesco is just within2 stops. The hotel allowed us to leave our luggages before check in and after check out. The room is really big, warm and clean, much better than we expected! Very nice place to stay.

As above, the hotel is clean and tidy, the rooms are basic which is fine for those of us who need somewhere to sleep for the night. It's in a nice location, just outwith the hussle of the city centre but local enough to walk to or busses are regular. The staff don't speak much English so this may be off - putting for anyone needing help or advice with anything, but all I needed was to check in and out quickly.

I stayed in a triple room. Room Space is great, One double bed and 2 single bed. Attach bathroom. Daily Housekeeping is provided. Friendly & helpful reception. Mins walk to bus stops that lead to Tourist spots n shopping area. Hotel a little old., but with the location n price, it’s worth.
