Quirky little hotel but don't expect a spa”
It's a lovely, well presented hotel but it's really unusual. There are rooms without windows and the twin room we had didn't have a door on the bathroom, not that great when you are staying with a friend! But the rooms are really clean, the staff are friendly, great food and bar. The breakfast is of a really good quality and the beds are very comfortable. Much of the branding says hotel and spa still though, and there's been no spa for two years. Perhaps they should invest a little money into correcting this to save more confusion. The Google listing is also incorrect in that respect. Great value for money and we enjoyed our stay. Thanks

Pros Friendly staff Lovely rooms Good location Cons £12.50 to park car Still not had £25 back after being told it would go straight into my account after I checked out. Just rung the hotel and they are now saying it could be Friday which means hotel has had my money nearly a week... I would have paid cash if I had known then at least I would have got it back straight away

Interesting hotel, spacious and special room”
We were assigned a room with the bathroom seperated from the toilet at the corner of the hotel. When passing through checked-out rooms with doors opened, we peeked in to realise that our room was much bigger than the other rooms we saw. With the high ceiling left from the heritage of the brewery, and the fan provided in the room, it was not hot even in summer when the temperature was 30°C+. Th only thing about this room which we felt strange about, was the th bathroom wa without a door! Guess it would be a bit awkward when the room is occupied by two friends. The 'pack-to-go' breakfast was good, with pastry products, cereal bars, yoghurts and fruits, and coffee, tea or chocolate was freshly prepared at our order. Service was good overall, and we were satisfied at this low room rate. The location was alright, within walking distance from Salford Central Station, which could be reached by the free bus from Piccadilly Station or National Football Museum, etc.

The hotel was very friendly and helped to make our stay very special”
Service at reception wasn’t very helpful but all other staff were very professional and welcoming. Breakfast was a little slow as we had to wait some time for certain dishes to be refilled but extra things like requesting cooked eggs and hot drinks that were all brought to the table made the overall experience good.

On arriving, the receptionist was very friendly. However, she was very unclear. Room was warm .”
As soon as I checked in the receptionist ask me to pay an additional £25 and I didn’t understand why ! She had upgraded my room with me telling her and she didn’t explain it well. I didn’t say anything then because my boyfriend was there and I didn’t want to make a big fuss. Room was spacious and bathroom is amazing ! We got a deluxe double room but I booked a city double and I am not pleased.

Deluxe means 'window'.”
Corner cutting and white lies won't bring us back. Saying that 'covid' is the reason rooms aren't cleaned daily (although their website says they are) but there are no other 'covid' precautions being taken by the hotel, doesn't wear well. Similarly, what would normally be replenished, each day something has to be asked for: clean towels, shower gel, tea and coffee, or simply biscuits. Staff are courteous - but if you don't ask, you don't get. However, upon checking out the receptionist did ask if we'd like her to call a taxi to take us to Piccadilly Station. So, well done. We was upgraded to a larger room when I complained that our 'deluxe' room was rather like cell. When asked what 'deluxe' meant I was told that means the room has a window! A 4 star hotel? My backside!

Comfortable stay at the Ainscough”
Stayed w/e end January for a show at the Opera House. Had booked well in advance so two double internal rooms were just £120.00. Upgraded on arrival for £10 each room for rooms with a view. V spacious and comfortable. Hotel has a restaurant and 24he bar, though we doesn't use either as we ate/drank out. It's about a 10-15 Min walk to the Opera House and about another 10 mins to centre of all the action in Manchester, so a great location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Had a car park at the back, says it's limited, but we arrived at about 1pm on Saturday and there were plenty of spaces. Costs (c) £12 overnight parking which is way cheaper than NCP. Hotel have several with NCP. If their car park is full and u park at NCP, I get a 40% discount, which we coated after discount at around £35. So still better to use the hotel parking. Overall a great w/e and would stay again. Book early, to get a great deal - we booked in June for our January stay.
