The most efficient hotel room I've ever had.”

Stylish, efficient, great location, amazing bathroom

My first time in Japan and I stayed at The b - Ikebukuro. I chose this b/c it was in a great, convenient location and I really liked the modern, contemporary design of the place. I usually temper my expectations as photos online do not always match the actual property but the b actually looked better in person than online. The rooms are shockingly small but considering it is Tokyo, the culture shock quickly wore off. The rooms are very well kept and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was one of the most efficiently organized/utilized space I've had the pleasure of using. The hotel is w/in 2-3 short blocks (1-2 minutes) from the Ikebukuro train station and is easily accessible. There are many shopping options in the vicinity and there is even a restaurant/bar on site (2nd floor). For more dining options, there is an izakaya in the basement level of the building. The staff is varied on their English skills but there wasn't anything too major that needed deep translation. There are ample literature that explains the hotel details. There is a laptop in the lobby that serves as a business center. There is no wifi in the building and I hope they add this in the future. That added feature would really make this hotel shine. There is, however, free wired internet in the rooms. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect and the amenities are excellent.

Thumbs up for the B Hotel at Ikebukuro”

Location - very close to JR Ikebukuro Service - friendly & helpful counter staff Room - modern, clean and comfortable
Improved sound insulation (suggest better double glassing) to reduce traffic noise at night. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. There was renovation work on level 2 (up to 6pm) but to be honest that did not bother us at all.

Australians like to travel. We love to see different places, meet interesting people and try the food of host countries. Japan offers all of these things and more. Having visited Japan previously, this time we were wanting to really have a contrast from country to city. To do this we ventured around rural areas of Nagano prefecture & Kyushu for the quiet places and targeted Tokyo for the faster pace of life. Our hotel of choice was the B at Ikebukuro because it placed us right in the centre of things. Ikebukuro offers wonderful places to shop and eat and if you want more the JR rail is a just short walk away, and that will get you to Ginza, Shinjuku, etc within a short time. How good is that? We arrived in Tokyo from Nagano & within a short time were standing at the counter of the B hotel in Ikebukuro. The staff were expecting us and welcomed us in English. Within a short time we were in our room and looking out the window at the sea of people in streets below. So this was Ikebukuro eh? After a hot shower and a change into fresh clothes we headed out into the streets to get a feel for the place. It was exciting to see the sites and take-in the smells of Ikebukuro. What a complete contrast to the much slower pace of Kyushu and Nagano. We were pleased that the hotel staff spoke such good English because that allowed us to ask questions about places to see and things to do. Thanks to their help we off loaded some of our heavier bags to Narita International Airport using the 'Black Cat' courier service. This ensured our final trip using Tokyo's trains to the airport was as easy as possible. All we needed to do was arrive at the airport and claim our bags before check-in. What a good tip. Thanks! The hotel's location and style offers comfort and convenience. We were soon zipping from place to place using the 'B' as our base to rest and freshen-up and making the absolute most of it's central location to see all that we could see. Hey when in Tokyo do as the Roman

Nice, clean, small”

Clean rooms and bath very helpful staff..some english great location in Ikebukuro close to station great restaurants everywhere You can get anywhere from Ikebukuro station!!
room is really small, but adequate check in 3pm, no exceptions check out 11am...too early, no exceptions 710 yen taxi ride to take the airport bus no English language TV stations if you stay in the room a lot

I stayed at the larger Hotel Metropolitan in Ikebukuro for one night then moved to the b. The price was half of the Metropolitan, location equally as good, but not as fancy. The bed at the b was great, room a little smaller. The b is on one side of Ikebukuro station and the Metropolitan is on the other side, you have to go through the station....a little confusing..to get to the other side of the "tracks". Even though the Airport bus goes to Metropolitan, I will opt to stay at the b and taxi over. I will definitely stay at the b again next time I'm in Tokyo.

My best stay in Tokyo”

Convenient, value for money, clean/tidy

It was my best stay in Tokyo, I'm stayed in Ueno and Shinjuku in the past but Ikebukuro is by far the best for shopping, eating and drinking. 'the b' is very easy to find, basically you take Exit 23 and turn left and walk straight for 5 mins and you'll see the hotel on the left. Unfortunately Exit 23 has only stairs with no lift/escalator, but there's another exit that does, I can't remember which one but it's on YouTube. The hotel is small like all hotels in Japan but has everything you need and really utilised the space well. I was travelling with my wife, 2 small children and a baby, and we ordered the triple room, they've put 3 beds together so there was more than enough space to sleep. There's resturants, bars, convenience stores nearby and yet the hotel is very quiet. Also it's a very nice location for the kids as I felt it was a very safe area, even late at night. Fortunately for us it was cherry blossom season and on our last day we did some exploring around the area and we found a very very nice park behind the hotel with a small traditional temple, needless to say we took lots of photos and they were one of the best photos of the trip as it was very quiet and traditional (unlike some touristy areas) and representative of Tokyo. Overall, I'm in love with this place, can't wait to go back in December.

great stay at the b ikebukuro”

Convenient location, just minutes away from ikebukuro station. Clean and modern looking room. Good shower system with rainshower head, "jacuzzi" jets.. Comfy beds. Free internet station (just 1) and coffee machine at the lobby.
Just 1 internet station at the lobby, but its free! Rooms are kind of small but that is expected of Tokyo anyway.

I have a pleasant stay at the b ikebukuro. Hotel was conveniently located near Ikebukuro station, just a 5min walk away. The room looked exactly like what we see on the pictures. We booked a room for 3 pax, and the staff made a mistake and didn't setup the 3rd bed for the first night. We didn't think much of it, and requested for some bed sheets and blanket for the 3rd bed. They realised the mistakes and offered their apolgies profusely and sincerely. And gave up breakfast vouchers for the next morning. I will definaitely stay here again when I go back to Tokyo.

Extreme convenient location ”

Like the location of b Ikebukuro. Very close to Ikebukuro JR, Tokyo Metro station, about 5 min walk. Right across the hotel is 7-11. Close to many famous restaurants, cafes, shopping malls & underground shopping. Hotel rooms are small, typical of Japan hotels. But their rooms are already a little bigger compare to many other hotels. We chose the bigger room in this hotel already. The hotel is clean. Staff speaks English, etremely helpful and courteous.

Very clean rooms, close to food and shopping!”

4 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, close to food and shopping

the b Ikebukuro had clean rooms, excellent staff and an awesome location. From Ikebukuro Station, you pass a McDonald's, a Yoshinoya, a BIC Camera, and past the hotel a block down there's a convenience store. Everything you might need while staying here is right within walking distance. I even found a barber shop a minute away from the hotel! The rooms are well-kept, and was cleaned spotlessly every single day. The breakfast on the second floor was better than most breakfasts that I've had at other hotels. Keep up the excellent work B!

Nice Hotel with great location”

Big bed, nice shower, clean room

I stayed at the b Ikebukuro hotel for 5 nights and it was a pleasant stay because the hotel is very near with the Ikebukuro hotel, near with restaurants. The beds are big and can accommodate me with my young child. The hotel staff is kind and helpful as I can put my luggage until 7 p.m. without any charges. The room is small but that is okay if you don't bring much luggage. However the hotel need to consider food changing for breakfast as I stayed 5 nights and had the same food for breakfast everyday.

The B Ikebukuro ”

Great location, clean rooms, breakfast at the restaurant was good.
Staff did not speak english that well

We had a great stay @ the b ikebukuro. It was just a short walk from Ikebukuro station and easy to find. The rates were reasonable. I would recommend this hotel to couples, singles, and families looking to be in an easily accessible area of tokyo. We were able to take the Narita Express from the airport right to the station and walk 5 minutes to the hotel.

Will choose to stay again”

Close proximity to JR Ikebukuro station, breakfast and wired internet included in price
no airport shuttle bus, Tokyo railway is not exactly luggage friendly.

We had a good time staying at the b Ikebukuro Hotel. The room size is Tokyo standard. Hotel facilities are clean and like new. Our room faced the wall of the building next door, but we didn't spend much time in the room. We went out sightseeing during the day so it didn't affect us. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, wired internet, and like new room condition.

Better than Expected”

Nice location, Nice restaurant for breakfast, Reasonable prices

It was our first time to stay at the b hotels but it was very nice! Usually we stay at Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Shibuya or Yokohama when travelling to Tokyo. As usual, room should be small and expensive in major area in Japan. But our room at the b Ikebukuro was quite spacey probably we booked triple room for two of us. The best part was that the room rate was almost as a double room. The hotel is just next to the train station and shopping area. Many nice local restaurants nearby. We should book there next time if staying at Ikebukuro.

Good location, nice and attentive service staff”

The location is good! Easy walk from the Parco exit of Ikebukuro station! My friends and i also found a shortcut to cut through streets to get to Exit 35 which has both an escalator & lift! Don't know how to explain how to get there (sorry ><), but it's a straight walk across the street from the hotel and i remember i made just 1 turn to the main shopping street leading to sunshine city. Hotel staff are quite nice and attentive! They even helped us to remove some furniture from our room as we have 3-4 luggage to open up at one time! Very nice of them to agree to remove and help. ∩__∩ Language wise i think they do know some English, but i conversed mostly in Japanese with them since it'll be faster for them to understand haha. Toilet is spacious enough! More spacious than the typical Tokyo hotels. Towels & linens are clean & the bed is comfy and "equipped" with 2 pillows! 1 hard & 1 soft one. All in all, it has been a great stay! Thank you! ∩__∩

The b ikebukuro is located in Ikebukuro which is a busy shopping area. It is very close to JR station therefore very convenient. It is well equipped e.g. internet. The staff speaks English very well. However, it provides shower instead of bath. I would choose this hotel again if I stay in Ikebukuro next time.

Great location and really good value for the price”

Breakfast, modern rooms, near the JR Ikebukuro station, a few minutes walk away from the main shopping street

The best thing about this hotel was its fantastic location, only a 3 min walk from the East Exit of the JR Ikebukuro Station which is particularly convenient if you have a JR pass and can use the Yamanote Line for free. The rooms were really modern and new and the rain shower was fantastic. Breakfast was also good to have. In all, the room isn't huge (no cupboards) but it really wasn't an issue. One note of caution is that the toilet door isn't opaque but only frosted and only 1 card key is given. But overall, we looked at a few other hotels in Ikebukuro and around Shinjuku and this hotel was definitely the best value. Location can't be beat!

Great hotel with excellent staff and great decor”

convenient to the station free internet free breakfast

My favorite hotel chain in Japan. I have been to five different B Hotels, and all of them were great. This hotel was about a five minute walk from the north east exit of Ikebukuro. There was a free breakfast every morning in the second floor restaurant (although it was the same food everyday). The room itself was clean and spacious, and also included a LAN cable for the internet. Overall a wonderful visit, and I recommend this hotel chain to all my friends when they visit Tokyo.

The B Ikebukuro Hotel”

Good location. Hotel is located at the centre of shopping areas and food districts. It is 5 min walk from Ikebukuro station. Staff is friendly and helpful. They provide clear directions to places where we wanted to go. Hotel is clean. It provides Internet access in each room (if you bring your laptop along); and Internet access at the lobby. It provides free coffee at the lobby.
- Room for improvement in command of English - It would be good if the staff could help us bring our luggage to our room upon check-in. - Breakfast not provided when hotel reservation is made.

I will recommend the hotel to my friends too.

Brand new hotel ”

location decoration
none

The B Ikebukuro is very close to JR station... it takes only 3-4 minutes to get there. In the area, there are shopping malls/ discount stores/ cheap restaurants/ slot machine shops/ convenient stores/ and many other things. It's real convenience. As the hotel was just openned in June (or July) this year, the room looks very nice and clean, fully furnished with modern style decoration.

Good location, best design, the most valuable

the hotel is in the heart of tokyo, 5 mins walk from ikebukuro station, which is not far at all since the weather was very good to walk( a bit cold at night). we stayed there 3 nights. basically, everything was perfect. we love the design of the hotel, especially the cafe' on the 2nd flr. the breakfast was perfect, cute, and creative like what most of the japanese foods r. the service was great.the room is pretty small but clean with good design. as well as the restroom, small but great.

Pleasent stay”

Near to the Ikebukuro station, shopping area, foods. The hotel is clean, new, and neat. It is small, but no complaints.
No English TV channel. Check in at 3pm.

It is easy to find the hotel, just come out from East Exit of Ikebukuro station, turn left, i can see the hotel. We are early when we reach there, because the time check-in at 3pm, we request to put our luggage while we explore Ikebukuro. The stuff is friendly, and ready to help. I will love to come and stay there again if i comoe Tokyo.
