Exceptional”
I stayed with the Blue Orchid for two nights during the pandemic. The hospitality industry has been badly affected by the pandemic and the Blue Orchid is no exception. There were probably only two to three staff members working there during my stay (they would come in at 8:00 am and leave by 8:00 p.m.), the restaurant served only a limited number of dishes and cost-cutting measures had to be implemented (e.g. the resort wasn't as well-lighted at night compared to how it would have been pre-pandemic). Despite all that, I found the staff to be extremely attentive, helpful, friendly and accommodating. One of the staff members even accompanied me to the town market to purchase fish and fruits. The kitchen staff also did such a great job at cooking and preparing the food I bought. A group of 20 or so was also around when I checked in and the resort allowed them to make full use of the kitchen. The room wasn't fancy but it was clean, spacious and airy. As mentioned, the staff goes home at 8:00 p.m. and if there aren't any other guests, you'd certainly find yourself alone (although the owners also stayed at the resort). While some people might find this scary, I very much enjoyed the solitude and tranquility. However, you may want to bring with you provisions for when you're feeling peckish in the middle of the night or need a nightcap as the resort is a good 10 to 15 minutes away from the town center. Since the rooms do not have any TV, you might also want to bring a book with you or a laptop to keep you entertained throughout the night. They have decent speed internet wifi. You can arrange to have a massage (IMO so much safer than if you had a massage at any spa in the city) or if you'd rather be more active, you can always go swimming, snorkeling or diving. The resort also has a tennis court and if you're travelling alone, you can play against the practice wall. They have rackets and tennis balls which you can borrow. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Blue Orchid

Amazing stay at Blue Orchid Resort”
Michael and Nariza have been the most wonderful hosts throughout my trip and the whole staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. I stayed at the resort for about 10 days and by the end of my journey, I really felt like I was a part of the Blue Orchid Resort family. Some highlights for me were 1. the Room - very spacious and comfortable. The balcony opens up straight to the ocean and the view is unbeatable. The whole vibe is of that from one of Hemingway novels. 2. Scuba Diving - I did about 18-20 dives throughout the course of my stay. Jeff who is the dive master at the resort is full of knowledge and very keen on ensuring you get the best sights under water. I can be very confident in saying that after diving with Jeff, I am a much better diver. The location itself is great of diving as the resort beach access takes you strength to one of the most healthy coral reefs. I could do shore dives at my leisure and was always greeted with awesome aquatic life. 3 the hosts and staff - the resort owners (Michale and Narissa) have been the most cordial and forthcoming throughout my stay. In some cases they have gone out of their way to assist me. For instance my phone broke down during my stay and I tried fixing it with local shops but they could not. However Narissa and her brother helped out and ensured I had it working before I left. On my last day there, I was taken out on a waterfall tour and was very happy to spend time and space with Michael and Nariza Overall I had a very good experience and I loved being at the Blue Orchid Resort and I would recommend anyone going to Moalboal to consider staying here.

Superb in EVERY way”
This place came highly recommended by a friend, now I know why… The grounds are far enough from the noise of Moalboal town, but still within a short enough distance to travel into everyday, just as I did on scooter. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the air-con was strong enough to fill the large room we stayed in. Snorkelling the house reef also far exceeded my expectations, the coral is a mix of hard & soft and on our very first snorkel, just opposite the resort by the drop off, we saw a group of four eagle rays, numerous turtles, juvenile catfish, a banded sea snake and many groups of colourful ateliers. The vis was good most mornings and during low tide the drop off is relatively easy to reach via a slabbed path. The dive shop is well equipped and the DM, Norman, is super nice and an excellent macro spotter. Even though I visited this place during Covid and was the only diver, they were still flexible with locations and I could dive whenever I wanted. The restaurant was pre-order only during my stay because of the limited people staying due to Covid, however this was not a negative as they have an arrangement with the restaurant next to them, of which serves excellent food. I can recommend the pizza and calamari, It was some of the best I’ve had. The prices are also reasonable given the quality, service and surroundings. Above all, the owner and staff really made this a special stay, all were friendly, helpful and accommodating. They even brought us dinner to our room on several occasions. I will be definitely coming back again soon.

More than the sum of its parts”
Went there on honeymoon. Even before our arrival everything was handled professionally and promptly. Airport pickup was on spot. We arrived really early and awfully jet lagged, and were very quickly arranged accommodation even before our check in time. This type of treatment persisted throughout our stay: whenever the staff could in any way make our stay better, they did. The place is beautiful and a bit off the beaten track, but comfortably located 15 minutes away from the actual town. We loved the location as you have priority access to the coveted white beach a mere 2 min walk. Food was delicious ,prepared fresh and is reasonably priced. Great shakes, cocktails and beers delivered to the cabana overlooking the beach and romantic tasty dinners were great to regain vitality between adventures around Moalboal. The rooms are spacious, clean and were a beautiful rustic frame to a few epic sunsets. Beds are Huge and comfy, AC was good and hot water in the showers. They offer and handle

Great accommodation. Amazing views, good facilities.”
Richard and Sara-anna made our stay a highlight in Philippines. From the welcome tour to all the attention we received, what a beautiful spot on the island. The scuba refresher from Richard and the dive with Dexter were well worth every cent. Well done to a great team and a wonderful, relaxing stay. Hoping the bumpy road will be upgraded soon, but hiring a scooter from the hotel made the trip to Panagsama so much easier. A free tricycle shuttle for guests would be a nice touch. Nothing though could detract from an awesome 4 nights at a great resort.

Marvellous "Honeymoon" room”
It was my 3rd time in the Blue Orchid. I always choose this resort every time I visit Moalboal. I travelled with my GF this time and decided to splash out a bit and booked the "Honeymoon" room. It costs more than a regular, but it worths every penny. It's spacious and has a huge bathtub that I missed badly and a private terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea. I spent 3 delightful nights there, and I already look forward to getting back there again. The resort also has a deep swimming pool which may be perfect for swimming/diving lessons. You can also rent kayaks or book diving session. The staff is very kind and helpful, and the rooms are always clean. The resort is located at the far end of the peninsula and has direct access to the sea. The view is beautiful, and you have a coral reef just in front of it. The only thing you should take into consideration is the distance to the centre. For me, it is an advantage because the place is quiet and secluded, but you will need y

Amazing location and staff”
This place is so dreamy! After such a trek from Cebu it's so nice to feel like that long journey was worth it and you have just checked-in in paradise. The staff was so nice and welcomed us with some very needed drinks. It's so quiet and peaceful, always a shame when kids ruin it but I guess I'll be more understanding when I'll have some of my own. Quite far (10min in tuktuk) from the main town but not really an issue and easy to get there and back. I would 100% recommend this place. Great for divers too but I can't really comment as I don't dive.

A Piece of Paradise”
The Blue Orchid was our little piece of paradise. We were really happy with its proximity to White Beach, the wonderful managers and staff, the food, the pool, tours offered and attention to detail. We had a really nice dive with them as well. They also have two sea kayaks that we wished we used :) Excellent A/C and internet connection. Bonus for animal lovers: they have an adorable puppy, kitten and a super friendly hornbill. I would stay longer if I could and it is definitely a place I would recommend.

Wonderful Resort”
We had a great time staying on the Blue Orchid Resort. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our canyoneering tour of Kawasan falls which was organised by the resort. We also rented scooters, got massages and the food/drinks were good. Only small negative was the aircon in our room didn't work very well.

Great resort for a weekend away”
Well maintained, secluded resort with good food and drinks. The rooms are very comfortable and seem quite new. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a bit of a ride outside of town, but the resort offers the option of scooter rental. Didn't get to go diving this trip, but the pool and other facilities are good. It's right on the seafront, but doesn't have a real beach and the water is quite shallow. White Beach is not far away however. The resort has a great selection of local beers, so don't miss happy hour!

Relaxing place to unwind!”
I love the place because it was very relaxing and peaceful away from the city. The owner was generous enough to offer us 3 spacious rooms for a lesser price. A bargain you cant refuse! :D The staff was also accommodating.

Will be back again when we have the entry level certificate of diving ”
Since we were late to departure from Cebu south bus terminal to this place-the traffic time was 4 hr in total-we had no chance to have our dinner in local when arriving at the hotel. The hotel owners showed hospitality and allowed us to order some food even though the restaurant had been closed. Ppl there are so kind and generous to share what tour is available in Moalbaol and how we can arrange our traveling time. Because of our limit time, there are so many places yet to be explored. We def will be back to this place again.

Definitely recommend this beautiful resort!”
Me and my partner stayed for two nights and we definitely loved the place. The room was spacious and clean. You can add bed/s (for a fee) if you have extra persons. The staff were also friendly and helpful. The resort was well maintained and the beach is private (not crowded). The food was just a bit expensive which is why the resort doesn’t charge corkage. Bring food or you can opt to try other eateries around the area. (Just ask the staff) Signal is also super bad (sparse data and no wifi) which is understandable as Odette affected a lot of areas. Not so ideal to bring work here. Overall, we definitely recommend this and will be back. 👍👍👍

Loved our honeymoon stay at The Blue Orchid”
My husband and I spent the final four nights of our Philippines honeymoon at The Blue Orchid. It was the perfect place to end our trip. The managers and staff (and onsite dog Maple) were so friendly, helpful, and hardworking and created a family atmosphere. The food was consistently good. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and we loved our roof deck for sunsets! The staff arranged transportation for us on multiple occasions, which was great because it’s a little off the beaten path! (Be ready for some bouncy tricycle or motorbike rides!) They also booked our canyoneering excursion, which we’d highly recommend (and if they tell you to go early, go early-it’s worth beating the crowds). We didn’t do any diving while we were there, but we went on a few boat trips that were a mix of divers, snorkelers, and people learning to dive, and I would’ve felt comfortable with their instructors. The house reef and all of the local dive spots we visited were beautiful, it was refreshing to see such healthy coral when so many parts of the underwater world are suffering. A few things I wish I’d realized ahead of time, although I wouldn’t change a thing about our stay: Panagsama Beach and Moalboal are a 20 minute ride away, which is doable but makes it harder to pop into town for a quick bite (we just went into town once for dinner). Also, The Blue Orchid is a little past where White Beach ends, so it’s walkable but it’s not right on the beach. However, the house reef is right out front and there’s a sandy area with beach chairs set above the water, so still a nice place to relax. Thanks for a wonderful end to our trip!
