Good value for money”

Needed a hotel close to Hyde Park and this one fitted the bill perfectly. Five minutes walk from either Queensway or Bayswater tube station down a quiet road. Room was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. Breakfast was adequate. Not a huge choice and no cooked option but suited our needs. I slept soundly. No noise in the hotel or from outside. Bed very comfortable. It's a no frills hotel but certainly very good value for money. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It will certainly be the first place I look at when I stay in London again.

Zainon from Singapore”

Excellent location: within walking distance of Queensway underground’s Central Line; Asian / ME cafes/restaurants; laundrette; souvenir shops, etc... Also, Byron Hotel is on a street lined with other hotels. Many Malaysians around here since there’s a Malaysian Canteen in the High Commission building. Byron Hotel small twin room is super small, too cramped for 2 luggages. Funny thing happened - the bathroom doorknob fell off at the very moment I tried to open bathroom door, and the full length wall mirror was hanging crooked by 1 nail, so we got moved to a much bigger twin room! The shower/bathtub is definitely not for tall/big people!

Convenient but sooooo tiny”

Location, quiet at night, near Bayswater so lots of food

The Byron is really quite wonderfully located just a street away from Whiteleys and just another street down from Bayswater. Hyde Park and Queensway tube station are just a mere 5-minutes walk away. Despite being in a rather central location, the neighbourhood is very quiet, especially at night, which is a wonderful blessing for someone who desperately needs a good night's sleep after full days of business meetings. The room itself is TINY. There is an elevator on the premises, but corridors are pretty narrow and there is still the occasional step or two to navigate, so you *really* don't want to be travelling here with huge suitcases. I had a small roll-away cabin bag and that already took up one bed of my twin-bed room; there is almost nowhere to lay your luggage without having to walk over it at some point. The bathroom was also tiny, but sufficient. A shower stall, a small sink, a WC. However, being mostly out of the room and only needing it to store my belongings and sleep, it was more than sufficient. Service was prompt. However, the night clerk (I arrived at 6am on a early morning flight) mix-ed up my payment for the booking, saying that the CC used on agoda.com was only to secure the booking and NOT for payment. Unfortunately, I didn't have a print-out of the receipt and at his insistence (despite my repeated asking him to check & confirm the details first), I paid for the room upon arrival. A couple of hours later, the hotel manager came on duty, noticed the double-payment and promptly reversed the charge, with apologies. Perhaps the desk clerks could be better advised on how to handle such situations in the future, but other travellers, do take note! If I were travelling alone, I may consider The Byron as my accommodations again. :) There was a bit of a mix-up with the payment details

Cleanliness, location & helpful staff

We have stayed at The Byron before in the last month & enjoyed our stay. It is very centrally located to the all transport, Hyde Park & Castles within walking distance & were treated well by the management. The room although not large is comfortable & we had a good room with a view. It is quiet inside your room. We would recommend this hotel to others.

Comfortable and clean hotel”

The free breakfast is very convenient for me and my daughter to spend time waiting for stores and museum to open. In London, opening hours is at 10am while I already up from 6-7. There's a cozy lounge for guests already checking out or haven't checking in. Overall is a nice and clean hotel.

Small but well appointed room and bathroom, period building with old fashioned decor. Lift is surely a big bonus for such properties in London. Great location in a quiet street minutes away from Queensway and Lancaster Gate stations with plenty of late night amenities and dining options next door in Queensway. Good value for money considering the night we stayed was first day of the Notting Hill Carnival.

Absolute value for money”

A modest hotel with good location with parks and connections near by. Our room was very small but we were not looking for a mansion :) Clean room but had a bit too hard madrasses for us. Some minor repairments are must, but they have to be made wisely, not just hammering a couple of nails through a loosen table plate. Hotel gets a big plus from its breakfast. No street noise or other disturbing elements found. We will gladly come to stay here again.

Good location, but very Basic”

The beds were uncomfortable, the water did not stay hot. This is a very old building, but cute. Free breakfast is basic and there aren't any facilities. Choose this place if you want to be in a quiet neighborhood, a block away from a large selection of restaurants, a small mall, cafes, post office, laundromat and pharmacy. You also will be very close to 2 Tube stops and a busy bus stop. You can even enjoy a stroll through Hyde Park, just 5 minutes away.

We chose a small room $250/night it was extremely small. Bathroom was just ok as far as cleanliness, shower head was clogged it sprayed everywhere, shower curtain was 6" too short and water went all over the floor. Air conditioning was but a whisper of air and the room was in the basement, it smelled musty. Not enough ventilation . The breakfast was minimal selection and there was no variety during our stay. The two lobby chairs were very dirty. There was a coffee machine but you must pay at the desk and they handed you a cup with no lids for take away. The water dispenser was free. On a positive note it was close to the subway and a block from Hyde park entrance.
