Home away from home”
We frequent Charter house because of its great location. The place is in the heart of the city with lots of restos and shopping areas. It is also near the Greenbelt chapel. The family room is big enough for a family of 4. With good breakfast and clean facilities. Wifi is sometimes slow though. I would suggest, however, to upgrade the sky cable channels to include HBO, sports channel, etc. Overall, this hotel is my top choice if my family needs to take a break from home and be in Makati area. Very affordable too.

If you're looking for new and grand, look elsewhere. The Charter House is a dated hotel because it's been around even before all other Greenbelt extensions and large hotels were erected, but apart from that, it offers you all other guest needs in terms of strategic location (across BPI, P2P stop, Greenbelt 1&5 and parking space, beside PNB, 7-Eleven, and vegan resto), quality of service and resto food options, professional and responsive staff, complete amenities, cleanliness - all at an affordable price. Because of this, its rooms get booked fast so don't overthink it.

The location was perfect for us across from Greenbelt 5 mall. Our room was very clean and functional with a small refrigerator and a safe. Bed was comfortable. Not really a con but this is not a five star hotel. You are only given bath towels, no hand towels or face cloth, the free wifi works but it is slow. Our room was very clean and basic and had no view. We kept the curtain closed all the time because it looked out into what looked like patio that was used for construction. Quiet at night though. The air conditioner worked well but was very noisy. The restaurant in the hotel is very nice with a good selection on the menu and prices much lower than you'd pay in the mall. Only place in the Philippines I've ever been where they have alcohol but don't serve San Miguel beer. They serve Beer Na Beer which is another local beer and quite good. Cafe is open all day from 6 am until 11 pm. Staff were all very nice and willing to help. We would definately stay here again.

Amazing find!”
I am a contented guest. This is my first stay,and it won't be my last. PROs: 1. Location and safety are incredible 2. Communication via emails prior to trip are constant and responsive. Danica and Lou have been so helpful. Airport transfer arrangements were also a breeze. 3. Rooms are cooling, cosy, comfy, clean and odourless. 4. Laundry service was also a breeze. 5. Service staff and guards are extremely accommodating. For the first time in my life, otw to the hotel, a hotel staff came over with an umbrella during downpour. I thank Albert and the security guard for being such gentlemen. CONs: 1. The lifts might need some spring cleaning/air freshener 2. It could have been due to the doorsign of 'Make-up room' swung the other way or something, but my room was vacant for six hours (9am to 3pm) and i returned to see it still not made up. Waited for around 15min or so. 3. I also find it strange where i was asked by the Front Office the names of my companions with me. I prefer privacy.

This is our nth time staying at the Charter House. We always come back for the affordable rates and the excellent location. Of course, service, cleanliness and room size are terrific as well. Breakfast is simple but good and filling. Will visit again next time we're in Makati.

This is our third trip as a family to the Philippines, and we always start and finish our holidays at the Charter House Hotel in Manila. It is convenient to everything; the airport, the shops, the restaurants, the Metro. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, from the front door to the front desk, in the restaurant and in the corridors where we are greeted with warm smiles and nice words. We will see you next time.

Pleasantly Surprised!”
Considering this is an old hotel, we were pleasantly surprised that it's clean and well-maintained. The lobby may be outdated but the bed and mattress was not (which is important for a good night's sleep). Room size was spacious but the bathroom was tight. Location is EXCEPTIONAL! Literally just across Greenbelt 5 entrance, a short walking distance to the church, hospital and the nearby buildings/shops we needed to check out. The guard and door men are always friendly and helpful, ever ready to look out for a guest crossing with shopping bags in tow. The breakfast is plated and simple but there's variety. They serve brewed coffee but only with one refill. The seven eleven in the ground floor has direct access from the hotel which makes it very convenient. The hotel isn't fancy but it's definitely value for money.

Lovely stay right across Greenbelt”
Our room was Superior Room with 2 single beds. Quite spacious. There's cable TV with lots of channels, phone, safe, electric kettle, and small fridge. Pantry has no consumables. There are sockets near the bed and the desk (plus USB sockets). We asked about other rooms. Superior Rooms are at the back with minimal view. Premier Rooms (1 queen bed) & Family Rooms (2 single beds, 1 queen bed) face Greenbelt. Bathroom was small. You need to move to one side to close the door & go to sink area. I'm still okay with it since what's important to me is the toilet has bidet and is next to the sink. The shower with water heater is separated by a glass door. Toiletries and hair dryer are available. Service, security & breakfast are good. Pool is available but shallow, about 3 ft. Free Wifi is available but slow. No hotel parking but there's Greenbelt carpark right across. 7-Eleven next to lobby. Perfect location right across Greenbelt, from which you can go to 3 more malls. Will stay again. :D

Everything is very good about this hotel. It's not as posh as the nearby expensive hotels but it is value for money. The location is very accessible and convenient. The staff are polite. The food in the cafe are all value for money. I won't hesitate to book here again whenever I need a place to stay in Makati.

Had a great time at The Charter House it is very well situated on Legazpi Street Makati right across from the Green Belt shopping arcade, there are 5 shopping arcades. Theres a lovely quiet bar called Bloom very nice then across the small bridge to Simply Thai bar meet all the british locals and visitors

Location of this hotel is very ideal. It is literally across Greenbelt 5 and has a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and establishments nearby. It has a 711 convenience store below. Would definitely recommend this place!
