The City Escape Birmingham”
We stayed here for three nights. We received all the details for the property on time as per the instructions. However we were given incorrect key pad entry instructions and had to wait outside the building until the correct entry details arrived - a wait of nearly 20 minutes. Once upstairs we discovered that there was no linen for a third bed (sofa bed in the lounge). The duvet was dirty with a number of stains. Information on a pamphlet did not give a telephone number to ring so we had to resort to email. (I did find a contact number eventually on a private email to the owners) We were provided with linen (that night) and a pillow the day after we arrived. The biggest issue I had was that there was black mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and the room smelt of mould - the bathroom fan did not work. The extent of the mould would suggest it has not worked for some time. Whilst the cooking facilities were adequate they too were not clean. also the cooker fan did not work. On the positive side the property was well appointed, good strong WiFi, quiet and nicely situated for needs. (Close to Centenary Square) If the owners got all the entry details right, improved the bathroom and cleaned up the kitchen you would have a nice stay.
