Great location, quiet, quaint, convenient amenities. Great location! Several room options to choose from. Shuttle to sea world. Not too many cons. Family loved it. Beds were a little squeaky when moving around. A/C worked great.

We spent 2 nights at The Dana. We biked all around Mission Bay, the boardwalk and up to La Jolla. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and it was excellent. We loved our stay!

needed to get away from east county and visit the coast. this spot was perfect for our 8 year old twins. loved the ground floor room feet from the tropical pool entrance. the staff were friendly and helpful when needed!

I have been staying at the Dana on my travels to San Diego since 2006. It’s a great place to stay. ”
Cons though, over the years, the Dana has went from being the absolute best bang for your buck to joining the ranks of those charging for parking and other misc BS taxes. These are all additional fees for items that you were getting already. It moves the Dana from being in a class all it’s own to just another high end hotel charging you for everything they can.

Pets and Agoda excellent service ”
Facility lacks privacy. There were homeless people coming in and panhandling on the premises. Or felt unsafe at times. Facility is pet friendly but there are zero places to seat with your pet. Since dogs aren’t allowed on the pool you can’t seat in the pool area where chairs are located. Thanks to Agoda for making it more affordable. We extended our stay and the hotel price was ridiculous.

The staff was awesome! Our room was great except on our second night when we had to switch rooms due to someone using a crowbar to try and break in our front door!!! My mom was getting ready to take a shower while my sisters and I were at the pool. The person was not successful, but did manage to split the door jam. The manager on duty, Andrew, was very accommodating. He gave us a different room, comped our second night, parking, resort fee, and breakfast for the next morning. Agoda quickly reimbursed my credit card for the second night's price. I suggest that The Dana cut the hedges in front of the rooms where we stayed, put in security cameras, and have more security guards patrolling the property. I think I would stay there again.

Probably not ideal for a business traveler”
The Dana had some nice in-room amenities, EG robe and microwave. However, when I went to check out they'd added a $36 fee for resort services. When I pointed out that no one had told me about it on checking in and there was nothing about it on my booking contract they removed it. Nonetheless, it was uncomfortable waiting for the receptionist to read through the contract to make sure that I was telling the truth this. The delay almost cost me my Uber.

My room was facing the Mission Bay Blvd. Traffic was steady but the worst part was all the engine revving all evening long. Couldn’t hear the television without closing the windows. Might as well stay at a Super 8 by the Interstate

It’s a little pricey for a stay. The pool and jacuzzi was great. But for the amount I paid for, I was expecting a great view from my room. I was on the second floor and there was no elevator. Which was hard bringing your luggages up and down. The stay per night was on a higher price plus hotel fees which was $30+ per day. And there was $108 service charge. What was that for? A hotel fee and service charge? I guess I was expecting a better experience with the amount of money I spent.

Run down place”
The resort is extremely run down and dirty. We paid a premium price for staying here. The outside corridors to the rooms are filthy as are the doors leading into the rooms. People put their trash out in the corridors to include soiled towels, plates, etc. The only good thing about the resort is that it is on the water.

Uncomfortable Visit”
The movie at the pool was a good idea but not done very well. Got back to the room and the air conditioner had not been working all visit. Called the front desk to come fix and magical it started working while tech was there then he left and it stopped working again making it a sleepless night. For the money we paid I expected a much more comfortable night.

I checked in late and I was given a key for my room and when I went to open it the latch was drawn and there were people sleeping in the room, which I scared the daylights out of them and myself also. I was embarrassed and luckily everything concluded okay when I went back down and got another key for a vacant room, but not a pleasant experience.

Lovely boutique resort”
Superb location, wonderfully comfortable beds and quiet location this hotel is a must if your looking for location, location location. With its own marina The Dana offers a perfect setting for staying in San Diego but away from hustle bustle of city. Minutes away from everything attraction and on the waters edge can highly recommend . Staff very welcoming and helpful. Had a meal at cafe , good food but at night would have liked a little more light at the table. An outside setting a candle alone lacked a little light to see what I wa eating. But the food and service were again very good .

Short family vacation”
We got a great deal which made the stay possible for us. Management was exceptional in helping ensure our stay was memorable, perfect really. If we can manage to find a way to stay again at the rate we found, we will likely make this hotel our family's first choice. The pools were lovely, the views were excellent, the staff was outstanding, the food/beverage/pool service was tops. Our stay was perfect, we only wish we could have stayed longer.
