The Dunstane Houses staff were by far the most attentive of the three B&B that my wife and I stayed at during our UK holiday visiting from the States. Great service! Having a full bar and restaurant with a varying dinner menu of excellent food at the Dunstane House was a huge plus. With the city and airport bus stops located directly in front of the Dunstane house is a major plus for the Dunstane Houses. I would stay there again if every returning to Edinburgh.

Beautiful & convenient ”
Historic buildings, beautifully decorated staffed by friendly professionals easily accessible from the airport make Dunstane House an excellent choice. It is an easy 15 minute walk or a quick bus ride to the town center. The restaurant serves delicious breakfasts & dinners. I'm looking forward to taking tea in the pretty dining/bar area on my next visit.

Great stay at this boutique hotel”
We stayed at Small Double at The Dunstane Hotel in May 2017. As the room description says, the room was very small and located at another building opposite the main hotel reception. The hotel does not have any lifts so you will need to carry your luggage up and down stairs. Staff was friendly and showed us to our rooms. Parking is available and free. The location of the hotel is to the west of the Edinburgh New Town and the best way to get there is by bus. Overall a great experience at this hotel.

The anticipation generated from the initial view of a most impressive building facade was not deflated when we ascended the stairs and our room's door opened. Period features and a sense of timeless elegance prevail. Service and friendliness are clearly the ethos of Dunstane. Our room was nicely appointed if not somewhat cosy. Can't be too critical of anything really. Bit of a walk to town but peace and quiet are the dividend. Be aware that there are no lifts and that some rooms are quite small but be comforted that beds are comfortable and there is plenty of parking. The included breakfast is excellent.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location is somewhat away from the madding crowd of Princes Street, but close enough to the attractions with good bus connections immediately outside the hotel. The building looked like a Victorian house, and the rooms were spacious, and decorated in a very modern tasteful way that echoed W hotels, but with much more room. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and equipped with both a shower and a bath. The food was worth staying in for and was very well crafted. The kippers were the best I've ever had, and the staff struck us as intelligent, humorous and helpful.

The property is a GEM. My partner loves the large bathroom and the breakfast. She enjoyed the Egg Florentine! Although we are at th Hampton House, there is a glass garden and an outdoor space at the rear for relaxation. The complimentary car park is useful to leave our car and is just a short walk to City.

Only a bus ride away from the City in a quiet suburb”
Travel back in time when you stay in this elegant and lovingly maintained Manor House in a quiet suburb close to the City and not too far from the airport with bus stops on the front door. We found the staff very helpful;there was plenty of choice in the lovely traditional cooked breakfast; our small room was comfortable; en suite bathroom had a modern fitout. Word of caution to those who struggle with stairs! There were no lifts.

Beautifully restored townhouse. Rooms were cosy but very well furnished and maintained. Staff were friendly, professional and made visitors feel at home. Food in restaurant was AMAZING! All in all - a very under-stated, beautiful hotel.

Perfect for a few days stay”
Staying on the ground level you could here the pipes from the water heater and sometimes people's voices, but overall for it being a small room it was clean and served its purpose while we were there. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly.
