Fantastic hotel with great customer service!”
Loved this hotel. Our room was very spacious. Not sure if this is their normal sized room or not with a family of 4, we had enough room to move around without bumping into each other. Even the bathroom was spacious...nothing worse than a cramp bathroom. The staff were courteous and very attentive to our needs. There was a hallway that had old photos that described the history of the hotel and all the famous and important diplomats that stayed there. Love reading about the history of the hotel...it was very informative! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Downtown luxury”
Having spent 14 days touring N California staying in the top traveler ranked tripadvisor hotels, I had been used to a certain level of luxury. However, the Fairmont was on another level altogether. This hotel is truly sumptuous, providing the weary traveler with a serious level of decadence and comfort. The room was large, the bed comfortable, the bathroom fine and the experience very enjoyable. OK the plug in the bath didn't fit the plug hole perfectly so I had to keep topping the bath up, and breakfast was not included, but this was a great way to end my tour and would highly recommend it. As with other San Fran hotels I ditched the hire car prior to checking in as the cost of parking and the driving experience in SF mean that finding other ways to get about is much preferable. Staff very polished.

My wife and I stayed here over the New Year holiday and we absolutely loved the hotel and the staff. Wine, fruit and cheese served at 5pm everyday. Beautiful view from the 23rd floor to wake up to in the morning. Highly recommend this magnificent piece of history to stay at.

This is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed at, opulence is the word I would use to describe this hotel and this entire area of hotels. It was amazing all the movie stars and politicians who have shot films and stayed here; the Kardashians, Anthony Bourdain and Orson Welles to name a few. Highly recommend!

Fairmont never disappoints Amazing stay ”
Pros- where do I start. Warm greeting from front door staff, to a greeting from reception. Staff was absolutely incredible, making sure our stay was exceptional. The cheese and wine from 5-6 pm was lovely as was the free lattes in the morning down in a meeting room. Tonga Room was a unique experience! Food was great! Will definitely stay again!

Luxurious stay, overall. Beds are extremely comfortable. Nice and quiet. Exceptional service. Best part was the Le Labo lotion and products in the room. Be prepared to walk intense inclines or take cabs every time you leave the room. We used cable car a few times. The location is great, because it is very close to union square and china town, but walking requires what feels like actual hiking. Very, very steep hills. Cab ride to union square was approx 5 dollars, though.

Worth staying in a historical place”
The building itself is very historic and magnificent which gives you a proper notion of staying at a highly valued hotel. China town is just few blocks down, and easy to get to the North port, Ferry bldg areas. That said, you should deal with its high leveled location on top of the slope, hotel with no pool. Nonetheless, we did enjoy our stay there.

Beautiful hotel with so much history. Great location on top of Nob Hill. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and thought it was a little ordinary for the richness of the hotel. Our room had a great view of the bay. Would stay there again but would not eat there again.

Classic hotel”
A classic feel hotel. Stayed close to Christmas and there were some fun decorations/displays in the lobby. Very lively hub in the evening with guests and visitors congregating. Good facilities, and staff. Expensive, but that's normal for SF.

Stay here If you like "lips service"”
My wife and I were here for 5 days, and everything was great until we had our afternoon tea at the restaurant located in the lobby on the 2nd day. The food was mediocre and they charged $170 for a few sandwiches and cake (and I literally meant a few). We raised the issue with the restaurant manager name Brian, he was apologetic and offered to have us back for dinner so that they can make up for the bad experience we have had. Dinner time came and we turned up at the restaurant, no reservation was made for us...Brian wasnt there and no one know anything about the "offer" he has made. We were upset by this, so we raised the issue with the front desk manager name "Maggie" via an email. Whom then promised to get back to us within a day about the service we have been given. Upon check-out, we raised the issue again and were promised again someone from the hotel will get back to us within a few days. Up until now, a week after we checked out...we still have not heard back from Fairmont
