They have given me an early check in free of cost. Excellent support from the staff. Lunch/Dinner and breakfast very good. Good internet connection. Rooms were clean and neat. Hotel is very near to the city. Anyone who loves food, should visit calicut which is very good in having very nice eating experience.

My one day stay in Calicut with my family in this Taj Gateway property was very nice.Other Taj properties are much better than this. Breakfast was very good, buffet dinner can be improved. Enjoyed swimming pool with beers & snacks.

Great get away with very attentive staff”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Gateway, the best place to arrive when travelling to Kerala. The hotel is superb, the staff extremely friendly and helpful and their breakfast truly amazing. Would love to go back.

Good Accommodation”
I travel a huge amount each year so probably am more critical than the average traveler. I found the carpet in the hallway quite tattered, and the room, especially the bathroom, in need of an upgrade. Porcelain has worn off the surface of the sink and bathtub, giving a rather grungy appearance. But the room size is generous, and the hotel quite nice. The restaurant serves a mixture of buffet and a la carte offerings, but alcohol is quite limited and very expensive (beer is Rs. 400 for a bottle). But of all the hotels I know in Calicut, this is certainly the best.

Wonderful stay at Calicut”
Very comfortable and pleasant stay. It was just a day - but we got to attend the wedding we came for - just down the road in the church, and also to rest well. They gave us a late check out so we were able to come in and change and leave without being hassled.

Lovely hotel with typical Taj service”
This is an older Taj hotel so dont come expecting something ultra modern. That said the rooms are very comfortable, the service is fantastic Taj style and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Id certainly recommend this hotel anytime

I stayed two nights in the hotel. The property is located in the middle of the city but on a sleepy bylane and hence presents a calm and serene atmosphere. The rooms are medium sized ideal for 2. If you are addicted to the Taj experience then the experience at the hotel falls below par of customer experience that Taj hotels are famous for. The toilet fittings are bit old and gives a feel that it has lived its life. The staff are quite friendly. The breakfast spread is limited and is not appealing except for the live counter. Overall the total experience falls well short of value for money.

Great location - walking distance to Calicut Beach”
Had a lovely two night stay. Could easily go into town or walk to the beach(about 10 min.walk). The staff is friendly - (typical of Taj hotels) - staff that go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. The pool looked great but we found their weren't enough loungers around for people to sit and relax. The bathrooms need to be renovated and we understood that this will be done starting April this year.

I enjoyed my stay and can not stress how helpful and welcoming the whole staff where.. For me they made the whole stay, number 1. I feel if I had stayed in a lesser hotel I would not have had such a fantastic holiday.
