Situated in a quiet corner of Grasmere, this family-run country house hotel offers a modern British restaurant, Cafe Grand At Grasmere. The Grand at Grasmere overlooks the lake and is surrounded by majestic fells. It is just a 2-minute walk from the village centre. The hotel has several ground-floor rooms, one of which will accommodate a wheelchair. The bedrooms offer digital TVs and each have an en suite bathroom. The only difference between the lodge and the hotel is that guests come across to the hotel for meals. Only 2 rooms are suitable for wheelchair access or for those with mobility issues. Beautiful hotel in perfect location.”

Situated in rhe heart of Grasmere with free private parking surrounded by breath taking scenery. Lots of fell walks from the door both easy and more challenging. The hotel has beautiful gardens with outdoor seating areas looking down towards the lake. The hotel itself has been recently refurbished to a very high standard in a modern country style. We stayed in classic Lodge room which is just over the garden from the main hotel and it was modern and immaculate with a porch to hang wet coats and walking boots. The main hotel also has this facility. In the main hotel there is a restaurant and bar withe a good selection of drinks. There are lots of comfy seating areas where you can sit and relax to enjoy a drink or a coffee. The restaurant is table service for both breakfast and dinner and both both menus offer lots of choice cooked in the open plan kitchen where you can watch the chefs cook. The food was of high standard using quality ingredients. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We can highly recommend this hotel and plan to return.
There was absolutely nothing to fault at all everything was superb.

The Hotel is ideally positioned within Grasmere with pleasant gardens and views and ample parking. The Hotel has a modern/comfortable feel throughout, the staff are pleasant and always help-full and the food is well presented and "delicious".

Our toilet was not flushing properly and although assurances were given that it had been looked at, it didn't improve, and there were no alternative rooms. This meant that we had to use the public toilet which wasn't convenient or comfortable. This somewhat spoiled the experience for us. It's not really what you would expect from an establishment like this.

Comfortable, modern and well equipped room. The thoughtful little extras (biscuits, bottled water and tea making in the room) really enhanced our whole stay. The hotel was well maintained and very welcoming. The view from the restaurant/breakfast room was fantastic and the patio/garden was lovely. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice including vegetarian options. We really appreciated the unobtrusive but friendly and attentive service by the staff. Despite arriving later than planned the reception staff were happy to help with a booking for their restaurant at short notice despite clearly being quite busy! It is worth noting that we stayed in the lodge, which was lovely despite our initial concerns having read another review on this site. (Not sure where they stayed but clearly wasn't this hotel!!) Parking adjacent to the lodge was also very convenient, especially after a long day out walking!
Local radio turned up quite loud in the breakfast room on one morning during our stay - it spoiled the whole atmosphere on a gorgeous sunny morning.
