Value for money”

We stayed there for 5 days and it was a pleasant stay. The staff is quite polite and the food is also good. We were staying with our 2 year old daughter and hence was a bit skeptical before choosing the hotel. But it turned out to be a good choice. Though the facilities like swimming pool, park are missing but its good bet for the money

Excellent option for the discerning travelers”

This is for the discerning travelers who want to stay at a peaceful and tranquil locality and in a budget yet classy property. A definite plus is the staff members who are always ready to fulfill your requirements with a smile. Food choices are limited but if you want something special, the staff members attempt to make it for you. Rooms are with basic amenities but are tastefully done with antique furniture. There is a lounge-cum-library with a very nice decor. Foods tastes like home. If one wants to eat out, there are some excellent restaurants within 5-7 minutes walking distance. Overall, a big thumbs up for this property.

Homely stay in Shillong”

We spent the Christmas eve + a couple of days at Habitat this year. As the other reviewers have pointed out, this is a very clean property tucked away in a one way lane in one corner of the city. However, Police Bazar, the main shopping area is hardly 3 kms from this place. One of the biggest attractions of Shillong, the Don Bosco Cathedral is just a stone's throw away and you have a few good eateries (Cafe Shillong etc) within walking distance. Coming to the property, we just loved it. The rooms were tastefully decorated and extremely clean. So were the washrooms. The breakfast, though of limited options, was tasty. The fact I liked more is that there weren't a plethora of choices which finally gets untouched or hardly consumed - that situation, in a typical hotel industry, lead to recycling of those items at a later point in time. So I was assured of the freshness of our breakfast and other meals. We had dinner at the hotel - the menu is fixed for the day but you have the option to either go for a full meal or opt for just portions of it - that was suggested to us and was really helpful to balance out quantity needed and overall costing. And of course, the dishes were really tasty. The rooms are slightly smaller but definitely manageable and the library, lobbies and other sit outs are free for all to use when needed. The beds, quite comfortable for 2 adults and one kid - we had nice sleep on all the nights :o) Lastly - the service staff were extremely helpful and courteous. It was them whose involvement made our stay so memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a decent stay in Shillong. Note: If you're driving down on your own, keep in mind that the parking lot is a cramped one. We didn't face that issue.

Terrible choice”

One look at the place and we knew we had made a mistake. Terrible location, not far from the main areas of the city, but in a small back alley which is very difficult to access. No views from the room or anywhere else in the property. Poky, claustrophobic rooms with no ventilation. Depressing place. We moved to another place.

Fabulous Guest House at Shillong!”

Location is good. It is traceable in Google Map. Car parking place is spacious. Warm greetings. Smooth shifting at room. Starting from cleanliness, decoration, facilities, quality food, punctuality of breakfast, lunch & dinner: everythings are good. Sumptuous complimentary breakfast! Cable TV, Intercom, Room tea arrangement, Gidger: all are readily available. I have found only one thing negative to mention, that in our wash room (Room No 206), exhaust fan of other wash room is opened and we had to tolerate that smell! Still, i will come back again in this guest house!

very good but we were given a small room firstday.then they shift us next day.no menu card and little options to choose menu and No room service.not centrally located and if you don`t have personal vehicle then there wil be transport problem.
