Favourite Hostel in Japan”
The location is perfect, walking distance from Tenjin and the nightlife of Fukuoka, nearby bus station and subway connects you to everything else very easily. The cafe and bar downstairs, and the common room upstairs, are a great place to meet other travelers or locals if you are traveling solo. The whole hostel gets cleaned everyday so bathrooms and bedrooms are spotless, beds are comfortable and have a curtain for privacy. The rooms also have a locker you can use to store your small valuables in like passport, wallet or electronics. The staff here are easily the most fun people I’ve ever met. Always down to swap stories and provide recommendations. Can’t wait till the next time I’m in Fukuoka to visit Su, Anna, Pei Ying, Yuya, Keisuke, and the rest of my The LIFE Hostel and Bar friends! Cool hostel in the heart of Hakata”
First up, such a stylish decor, this place feels cool! The staff are great, and speak very good English. The rooms are a good size, with plenty of space for luggage. Everything is secure with a front door code for after midnight and codes for each bedroom. The shower facilities are clean, and all other amenities are good. Plus, this place is only a few minutes walk from Hakata station one way, and the yatai food stalls the other, so wherever you end up, you feel close by to the hostel. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a great stay!

Cool place to chill”
Quite convenient location, about 10 mins walk from Hakata Station, very near to malls and shopping streets. It is also about 5 mins walk to Nakasu if that is your thing. The ambiance is cool and kinda speakeasy, and even the staff are also cool. They speak English well. Bed are clean, and quite comfy for me, I often overslept during my stay. (However Japanese pillows are hard) Shower room and toilets are clean, and there is pantry with microwave and fridge for you to put your food. The door lock is a bit noisy as you have to punch in the code, other than that this is a good place to stay.

Semi-private Traveller”
I stayed in the female only semi private facilities. They were lovely. The facilities were cleaned every day and the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was with fellow travellers drying their hair at 1 am/2 am in the morning. The hostel anticipates noisy neighbours and provides ear plugs. I can’t fault the hostel. But if you worry about sleep, just be warned. It is a great place to stay.

Excellent hostel”
Stayed only for a night here and it was amazing. The room is clean and the beds are very comfy. Facilities are new. Will definitely stay here again. The staff responded quickly to my email queries before our check in. It was very easy to communicate with the staff too since they speak English. Thanks The Life Hostel and Bar Lounge!

Perfect service without frills”
I was worried if I would be put on the ground floor room but luckily I was placed in 204. The place was vivid yet calm to welcome its guests. The 4 bed room was occupied with one perskn only and it stayed that way for the rest of the night. Good shower facilities and washrooms and ice cold water jug in lounge area was a huge plus. I will definitely consider returning to this place if I travel alone again to Fukuoka. Thank you for your kind and professional service!

Good location, nice hostel, friendly staff ”
Very near canal city and not too far from Tenjin. Room is bigger than I think, tidy and clean hotel. Friendly staff, good breakfast. No parking but you can rent a parking slot at the building on the road behind hostel (opposite canal city shopping mall).

Staffs are really cool and friendly! special mention to SU who is SUper friendly, SUper accommodating, SUper hyper....keep up the good work SU! SUgoi! Common area is well designed to meet other travelers. Interior designs are interesting! Omoshiroi! It would been much better to have a USB outlet also for charging by the bed. Never made it wrong when I decided to transfer to this hostel. Bar lounge is cool for party yet bedrooms are comfortable for sleeping too; noise even party is going on. Would definitely stay in this hostel if I’ll visit Fukuoka again. Matane! またね

Good Place with Good People”
Location is great. Almost close to everything: hakata station, canal city, temples. Check-in time is at 4PM. It would be great if they would make it earlier. But anyways, you can leave your luggage and go around. Having a USB outlet in the bed is also recommended. Place is nice to rest and also good to meet other travelers specially the common area in the lounge. Grab a beer an chat with the others. Staffs are SUper friendly and SUper accommodating! Special mention to SU! SUgoi ne! Would definitely recommend to solo travellers. Never made the wrong choice when I decided to change hostel and stayed in THE LIFE! またね

Trendy spot with comfortable rooms”
We stayed in a 4 person room and the beds were spacious and had their own lamps and curtains to maintain privacy and help you get to sleep. The lounge/bar area was really neat, and we enjoyed some delicious and affordable drinks before going out for food.

Great for solo travelers”
Very pleased with my stay at this hostel for a weekend getaway. Located within the city center, it has quick access to a subway line connected to the airport (just a 5-7minute walk), has a 24/7 convenience store just right next to it, and is walking distance from Canal City Hakata. Especially great also for foreign tourists as the staff speak English fluently. Found the bar menu a bit pricey, but was expecting that from any ho(s)tel. Overall very satisfied and would book again if I ever come back to Fukuoka.

Looks New, and Fine place for smokers”
They run a bar & lounge at the ground floor of their property. Even though you aren't allowed to smoke in room area, you can enjoy them at the lounge. The dormitory cubicle I slept had a strange thin wooden stick was put spread wide at the midst of the space which I hit it several times with my head. I don't know why they put such but it helped me to hang my clothes at least. While the property looks new, some parts like a water tap and a security pad for a door weren't fixed well and you need to support when you them.

My Wonderful Stay”
Staff members speak fluent English so communication is not an issue. Very warm and accommodating. Very clean and cozy. Surrounded by everything and near subway stations. I just hope there is an option to include the breakfast in the price.
