The Lodge Dunrowan

Everything was fantastic. The location was excellent and the apartment is very cozy, warm and gives you home-like feeling. I can recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to visit the area. The location is good start point to all the attractions. Also, it is very handy as it is nearby to the shop and takeaways, restaurants. There is parking just outside the apartment . The apartment was exceptionally clean. If I visit the Isle of Skye again I will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much to the lovely hosts-Johnny and Lynn.

The property was just what we wanted. Self catering, clean up to date and comfortable. However it was more than that. We felt like we were home. A lot of effort was put into making the property well presentable to guests. I love the little things like a pantry with extra stuff like salt and pepper sugar coffee and a lot more. Having a bottle of wine and milk was also quite thoughtful.

The flat is beautifully decorated and adorned with very tasteful pieces throughout. Lovely little touches here and there make it a home from home. The hosts are just fabulous! Great communication, before and during our stay. So helpful; we’ve never experienced such great customer service. They are amazing! The location was a great base for our weekend. So close to Skye, Plockton and Eilean Donan. We ventured further north too; just stunning. The facilities in the flat were great. Fully stocked kitchen… so kind of the hosts to stock the larder too. Our next night down in Loch Lomond was an anti climax after being so spoilt in Kyle! Exceptional!!!

Everything was very nicely and lovingly furnished. The owners have paid attention to the details and everything is very well thought out.

There is nothing to complain about. Except for the sofa bed, perhaps (a bit uncomfortable), but that would be complaining at a high level and would not fit in at all with our absolutely positive stay.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay in the Lodge Dunrowan. I chose this location on purpose because it is adjacent to the Isle of Skye while close to other places in the high land, although finally we gave all the time to the Isle of Skye. I want to be honest and informative with the rating. We are absolutely happy with the stay. Actually it was the top two guesthouses we have ever booked, the other one being in an Alps village in Austria. The hosts Johnny and Lynn are extremely friendly and helpful. They are really the best, offering information and help from the very moment I made the booking until after finishing our trip and returning home. For travelers, such a kind of helping attitude is the most important thing, and Johnny and Lynn are unparalleled, for that they absolutely deserve appreciation and recognition. The location of the flat is so convenient, close to everything, yet sufficiently quiet to guarantee good rests. The flat is beautifully maintained and presented, with excellent hygienic standard. I must say that the pictures online did not do justice to show the real flat. The actual size and setup, as well as the facilities, are much beyond our expectation, My family are all very satisfied with it. This pleasant stay made our visit to Scotland even more enjoyable. For that we want to say a big thank you to Johnny and Lynn. Many thanks indeed. We hope you will carry on with this business and keep running your guest apartment for many years to come. There is nothing that we do not like. Just a few things can be improved. 1. The parking area is a bit awkward. A large or normal size car would not fit. However, this is not the problem of the property, but generally due to the planning of that area. However, this is not really a problem because many parking places can be easily found in nearby streets. 2. It is not really the problem of the setup, but should be my own problem. I found the operation of the TV was quite tricky. Nowadays technology was unnecessarily too complicated. I simply wanted to view normal TV channels. Johnny provided information and was very kind to tell me that he will be available should I need any help. But I did not want to bother him, especially when it was late in the night after a long day of trip. But I hope there could be some better and easier solutions to get the TV sorted out. I simply cannot handle the machines. But for many other visitors, they may find it easy and natural to operate it. So no worry about it. 3. Perhaps this is the only real point for improvement. The sofa bed as sofa is perfect. However, when using it as a bed, we did not find it comfortable. I am sure Johnny will be able to invest and find a better sofa bed. I hope these comments will not be perceived in an adverse way. Actually I want to make my review more informative and also try to help the apartment constructively. I really love the place. There is no place that is truly without any problem. Perhaps those no-problem ones would cost £2,000 a night, which is a bigger problem for most of us! All in all, the Lodge Dunrowan is really of top quality. One of the top two guest apartments we have stayed during my relatively rich travel experiences.

Very comprehensive information before arrival, very clean, bottle of wine waiting for us. The bed was really comfortable and there were several heaters to make sure we were warm enough.

The place was really lovely, well maintained and just like the pictures! The location was perfect for our trip to Skye. All the information was provided before our stay and we had the option of reaching out to the owners should we hit a wall.
