Hotel looking tired . Requires upgrading , change of carpet etc. Can’t comment on spa as wasn’t there long enough to avail of service. Perfectly clean and room spacious enough. None of the windows opened in bedroom so unable to get any fresh air into room. Stuck fast with paint. Didn’t meet many staff but the ones we encountered were pleasant. Breakfast poor choice . Coffee and tea stewed and cold. Not very interesting cooked breakfast products and scrambled egg cold. Also didn’t have any note of us having booked through yourselves and had to search to find out re booking. It wouldn’t be my 1 st choice of hotel if down in Troon on another occasion

Faded grandeur”
I had always wanted to stay at the Marine - an iconic hotel due to Royal Troon. It has a lot going for it but with some investment could do so much better. The room was clean and comfortable and bathroom perfectly functional. The bar was characterless however, as was the breakfast room. The place is in need of an upgrade to make it more welcoming and memorable. The photos of the golf course going up the stairs are excellent, but how about some more golf memorabilia in the bar? The staff were good and efficient. A nice stay that could have been so much more!

Fabulous hotel in wonderful location”
We were on a family golf vacation and stayed at the Marine Hotel while playing several local courses. The hotel location could not have been better. The staff was kind and helpful. Amenities were fantastic. I would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Very attentive and pleasant staff. Room v. small”
I enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel and the staff were excellent at all times. The single room was very small - didn't realize g]hotels still had single rooms! It wasn't very comfortable and, naturally, the bathroom was also small, although in good, clean order. I would stay there again - but not in a single room. Piersland Lodge across from the hotel is a very welcoming major competitor - if you're a golfer or not.

A very pleasant slightly faded elegance hotel in a lovely position overlooking Arran with , leisure facilities and nice well kept rooms Very attentive pleasant staff from the outset Sadly a little let down by an unimaginative, expensive restaurant serving rather bland food, the menu is the same limited choices menu in the bar or the restaurant Will certainly stay again but will eat out

Totally recommend this hotel. The food and the staff are fantastic and the spa has everything you need and want. Partner said the gym was great too. Very clean and nice rooms. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic Location and well looked after ”
OK the Hotel is in a little need of some TLC which appears to have started so thinks are looking good for now and the location could not be any better - fantastic beach. BUT - I WOULD NOT BOOK THRO' AGODA AGAIN - FACELESS ORGANISATION AND NOT WILLING TO COMPRAMISE WHEN WE NEEDED TO CHANGE DATES DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES.

Hotel us undergoing a massive refurbishment and is covered in scaffolding. Room was bleak and comfortable. Carpets needing replaced which I assume will happen during refurb. Staff lovely. Arranged to get our room early. Good breakfast and enjoyable dinner. Leisure facilities good. Would stay again.

My daughter and I booked a 2 night twin room stay with spa treatments as a birthday treat . The only problem we had when we were there was no wifi in our room on the first night. I had planned to listen to study information and could not. I complained to the receptionist and she told me to come down and log on in the bar and then go up to my room, which I did twice to no avail. When I said that I had stayed at a Premier Inn the week before with no problems, she said that there was nothing she could do until tomorrow and it was probably the router, with no apology. All other staff were pleasant and courteous during our stay, and the spa and leisure facilities were good. Breakfast was fine for me but limited for my daughter who is vegan.

Grand hotel. Swimming pool and other facilities were A1, magic temperature throughout. Staff were ticky boo. Grub was sound. Double suit, was ideal for accommodating the business trip. Easy parking. Cleanliness all over. All I can say - Spot on!

The hotel has lots of potential but really slacking on cleaning. ”
We stayed in the hotel for one night with my 10 month old son. The hotel was easy to find, location was lovely. The room was absolutely freezing, obviously having a small baby with us it wasnt ideal with only one small plug in portable oil filled radiator, after 4 phone calls was told they would turn the heating on, get maintenance to sort it we eventually got 2 extra radiators about 4 hours after we had checked in and initially asked about extra radiators. The room never really heated but became bearable. The room wasnt very clean with lots of dead flys on the bathroom floor and also hair on the walls in the shower meaning it hadnt been cleaned between guests. There wasn't much in the room, no kettle or fridge. The breakfast in the morning was fine but the highchairs definitely needed a good clean, luckily i had antibacterial wipes and it took me 5 minutes to clean before putting my son in it. The hotel has so much potential but cleanliness is really lacking. Would not recommend.

Nice hotel, disappointing bedroom ”
Nice hotel but bedrooms need updated. Although we requested a 'sea view' our room only had view of rooftops. Receptionist did offer us option of another room with slightly less rooftops to look at but was much smaller. Must say we felt really disappointed as we'd paid full price for our stay. Staff were friendly and breakfast was very tasty.

Our room was smaller than we had been in previously and the view was tiles and roofing. The room was clean tidy and comfortable though and the hotel is well located for golfers and beach goers. Food was good in the restaurant but no facilities for a 'bar supper' if you wanted to eat more casually. The staff were courteous and helpful. We will return !

Nice hotel- nice room. But it was a very cold room even with the heating on. They do provide a very warm quilt which helped but the hall was warmer than the room
