Very nice apartment but isolated location if you don't have a car”
Started poorly when asked cost of transfer from airport and quoted twice what the standard taxi fare was (and told we couldn't be told what the taxi fare was - even though there is a printed board at the airport). The apartment was lovely, clean and well appointed. Described snorkelling straight off the beach, but didn't say this was through shallow reefs and fire coral (one of the regulars told us not to try unless we knew the way as it was a tortuous route). Concierge highly recommended a "special" snorkelling tour that turned out to be the same as we could have bought off the main West Bay beach for half the price - and it took us less than 100m off the beach, where we had swum out to ourselves the day before. It's a 15 minute walk to the main West Bay shops (and better restaurants) and taxis are expensive (US $10-15). Good if you want to stay only in the resort, but otherwise isolated and staff care factor low.
