Drunks in the corridor at 3am”
2 of my 6 night stay were made miserable because of drunken noise outside my door , Room 47, particularly on the early morning of Monday 21 Nov. I TWICE phoned the night desk, but it was 03.45 before the last door slamming ceased. Never in my many decades of hotel experiences have I endured such disruption. The manager informed me that I’m due some recompense for at least the night of the 21 st- 22nd, but only you through whom I booked can arrange this. I look forward to your reply

A quiet oasis in the heart of Bloomsbury”
The Russell Hotel over the road is being renovated, which means bed spaces around Russell Square are at a premium. So the Morton Hotel is a real find and I'll definitely be back. We asked for a quiet twin room and room 46 at the back was perfect. There's quite a lot of space for a London room, with a dressing table, wardrobe area, chair and a lovely bathroom with walk-in shower. There's a small fridge if you want to stock up on milk or wine - a Tesco's Express is just around the corner. Also the windows open if you want some fresh air which is an added bonus. Huge fluffy towels too. We found we were in a bit of a Goldilocks quandary with the pillows being too soft or too hard but that's a minor detail. It is scrupulously clean - well, apart from a sticky sweet-like residue on the floor which we only noticed as we were in socks. Housekeeping were genuinely concerned and came to mop it up really quickly. The TV had Sky which was a bonus but unfortunately the sound quality was quite bass-like. We loved the quirky decor themed on the different writers of the Bloomsbury group. Unlike larger hotels we didn't really ever have to wait for the lift. The reception/bar is obviously set up for evening drinks rather than breakfast. We ate there once and found the seats too low to be comfortable. Also the tables just weren't large enough to cope with the paraphenalia of even a continental breakfast. My breakfast companion mistakenly used my soya milk as the main milk was on the bar and was not impressed. Her coffee was also way too strong with not enough milk. The next morning we went to the Pret A Manger literally around the corner for half the price. There's also a cafe in Russell Square itself overlooking the fountains and the trees. But not having a decent in-house breakfast is a small price to pay for such a quiet spot. Transport-wise we used buses and taxis. A cab from King's Cross was £7 at 12.30pm, to the Strand £7 at 4.30pm. If you just want somewhere easy to eat afte

Perfect”
We had a perfect 2 night stay, the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, the continental breakfast is really good (which I would normally not say for a continental breakfast), the interior design of the hotel is really cool and unique (not just another boring, bland hotel), it's surprisingly quiet at night (considering it's in central London) and the location is really perfect, just 1 minutes walk from the tube, 10 minutes from Oxford Street and right on the corner of Russell Square. Make sure you take the elevator up to your room to hear the friendliest, softest and most polite "doors opening", "5th floor", "doors closing" automatic voice you'll ever hear :) Will definitely stay at the Morton next time we're in London.

A little bit of Bloomsbury-style in the heart of London”
As a lone traveler on a budget I was very pleasantly surprised to discover The Morton, in the heart of London but proximate to lovely garden Squares (Russell Square in particular), the Tube and the Bloomsbury historic buildings. Gentility amidst the rush. Large comfortable bed and superb bathroom. Quiet and discreet, a true find.

Great experience”
This will be our go to hotel in London for future visits! I've already recommended it to two people. It's right on the Picadelly line so it's a straight shot from Heathrow which is very convient. There are 2 ATM's within 30 feet, a chain cafe and a Tesco Express within a block. The hotel offers a smart phone free of charge to make local calls, calls to the US and can be used for maps, info, etc. which makes getting around much easier. We had a wonderful time and the Morton Hotel is a gem!

Fantastic location”
We had a great time at this hotel. We had stayed in the Bloomsbury area before so we were familiar with the other establishments and the closeness of the Tube across the street. There is a shopping center down the street where you can go for breakfast if you want more than the continental breakfast at the hotel. I liked that fact that you had to use your room key to use the elevator and to open the front door after dark. Made us feel very secure. I don't know how long the hotel has been open but the breakfast suffered from a lack of easy to understand format. I did love the hot milk with tea and coffee. The desk staff seemed to have a gap in their knowledge of basic procedures in London, like buying an oyster card, but they were spot on when they ordered transportation for us to the airport. I would stay here again although it was a bit pricey.

Fabulous hotel in fabulous location”
The staff were so polite and genuinely helpful and friendly . I loved the restful but interesting decor of the hotel. Our room was beautiful. My friend and I spent a very restful and pleasant evening in the hotel bar where the prices were reasonable and the wine delicious. The fact that I have some difficulty walking was not a problem here because the lift was efficient and the the bar very accessible. I love .bloomsbury and with the buses outside and the tube around the corner thus hotel is really well located.

Fabulous ”
Stayed at the Morton hotel for two nights with my mother and daughter. Booked this hotel because of the reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel had an overall classy feel and the staff were excellent. Would definitely book it again on my return.

Good location & breakfast”
My mother and I stayed here on our holiday to London. The Morton is right around the corner from Russell Square Tube station and walking distance from the British Museum, British Library, and the Dominion theatre (we saw An American in Paris). Rooms are clean and comfortable and very quiet. We had our window open two nights and still did not hear street noise. The bathroom was new; we especially liked the large bathtub. The breakfast at the hotel was also very good and staff were friendly and helpful. The mattresses were a little firm, but otherwise highly recommend the hotel.

Definitely a five star hotel!”
We couldn't ask for a better stay. My electrical adapter wouldn't fit the wall plug-the gentleman at the desk went out of his way to find a wall adapter that would work with my iPhone plug. The room was on the 5th floor (55) and absolutely no outside noise at all. The walk-in shower was large enough to accommodate at least 10 people. In addition to the regular shower head there was also a rain head! Loved it! The hotel is in close proximity to the Underground - a big plus for getting around. The Morton will be my "Go To" hotel when in Lobdon

Nice stay in a central location”
We came to stay for two nights over the late May bank holiday, and had a lovely and relaxing stay here. The hotel is in a great location, very close to a park and the Russell Square tube stop. The small unique hotel is a nice change from the large chain hotels, with themed rooms and lovely decor. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was a good size for a central London hotel. It also had a nice bathroom with two showers (a hand held and a fixed "rain" shower). Room service was a little on the pricey side so we didn't choose to eat from there. However, we purchased a half bottle of wine one night that seemed very reasonably priced. All in all, a lovely little hotel in a great location. I would definitely stay again if I was coming back to this area.

Oasis in bustling London ”
This hotel sets itself apart once you get to the front door. Much prettier and revived compared to the many other hotels on this street. Entire property is cozy, charming, clean. We stayed in a top floor room that has an enormous rainforest shower room that was a luxury to use. Room was small but comfortable and had everything we needed. We took advantage of the laundry service. Clothes can back smelling fresh and nicely folded. Good to have as we did not have much time and wanted to explore London, not do wash.

Lovely Hotel”
The location was great for easy access to my meetings yet did not feel hemmed in as the local streets are quiet. The staff were superb, and the decor was quirckily classic. All in all it was a great night's sleep and a lovely stay. Next time in London I will stay at the Morton.
