I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to make you feel welcome especially the young gentleman. He was so polite. The hotel was lovely and clean. The food was outstanding. Nice attractions to visit in the area.

Something a bit special”
We had an absolutely brilliant stay at the hotel. The breakfast was staggeringly good (and we could see the castle from our breakfast table!) and for a sizeable hotel the staff made you feel very special and very well looked after. Highly recommended on all fronts.

Central. Clean. A bit old school but well priced.”
Excellent location. Good staff and service. Room we had was dated but totally inoffensive. Didn't eat but it only served 'Street food' which felt a little out of character with the building. Not sure how the chef went with that one. Offered free parking and 10% discount on food & drinks before we booked...which didnt exist when we got there. Enjoyed the stay all the same.

Nice hotel. Hotel is old so they are updating it outside with scaffolding in place. Some of the bedrooms could do with updating but I think they are in the process of doing that. That said I had a decent sized room

Dated but clean and comfortable ”
In the process of being refurbed. We stayed in a room that hasn’t yet been done. It was clean bed was comfy linen was beautiful and towels were fluffy. Breakfast was exceptional. Staff are friendly. Would recommend hotel Amd it’s only going to get better

Fabulous location”
This hotel is in the heart of the city centre. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean. There is a quirky old elevator and you can see the grandeur of the building. Our room was small and decor a little tired but great for the price. We found the double bed a little small but otherwise no complaints.

Staff were very hospitable! Only downside was the strange noises coming from the pipes when showering/washing hands. Other than that it was perfect!

The pictures do not do the building justice, it is a grand hotel with a working Victorian lift. Breakfast was of a high standard, rooms were basic but clean and comfortable

Comfortable stay in a perfect location”
Beautiful building in an excellent location. Perfect for visiting the many attractions Lancaster has to offer. Room was well equipped with very comfortable bed. House keeping service was good standard. A few maintenance challenges given the age of building. Reception and cleaning staff lovely, friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Thankyou to all concerned.

The rooms are clean and comfortable but the hotel is on a busy road opposite a bar with live music. Pack your earplugs!

Very friendly helpful staff, great location, beautiful hotel”
Our room was perfectly adequate for our purposes; clean, light, spacious with bright bathroom. Loved the vintage lift and the shared spaces particularly; dining room, reception and bar, wide stairs - everything with a vintage feel yet bright and clean. The only downside was that there were no blinds or net curtains to provide privacy. Much needed in bathroom with only frosted glass between you and the outside world!! Food was fantastic, including large breakfast with many options. The staff were very helpful and accommodating especially Rachel, and other reception staff. Also useful was a free-use mobile phone with local guide, internet browser and free calls! Also there is a small car park at the back of the building. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great Central Lancaster location”
They are currently refurbishing the hotel, and I stayed in a refurbished room. The room was spacious and clean, it had everything you could need. The only thing that let it down was the noisy guests at 4am, but that's not really the hotels fault.

Next time I will book a room that has been refurbished, although very clean and was fine for my one night stay the room does need updating. But most importantly it was clean.

Perfect location, just in the centre. Friendly and helpful staff. IT was a bit pricey for a small single room but it was suffient and had comfortable bed.
