The owners were a very nice couple but we were disappointed with the facilities in that the only facility for washing dishes was a plastic bowl and dish brush stored in a cupboard in what was supposed to be a kitchen/dining area. Water had to be taken from the bathroom washbasin. Location was good being a very short walk to the beach. We would not stay there again ourselves nor would we recommend to our friends.

A Fabulous Place to Stay!”

The Station House Motel in Collingwood was a great place to stay because it’s located in the centre of town and the staff are very friendly and helpful! I had a suite of rooms in the front and sun streamed in each morning. The beach is a short stroll away. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is a dining table and tea, coffee making facilities along with a toaster. There is a great laundry on the property too and you can sit out in the lovely garden. I thought the rates were extremely reasonable and 3 people could have slept in the rooms I had, so good for families. It’s a brilliant location for going on the Farewell Spit tours. Sylvie, one of the owners also was very generous with her time, giving me advice about exploring locally, like going to Wharariki Beach. I loved staying here as it was so relaxing 😎! I’ll certainly come back to stay and I recommend it it in the highest of terms!

Great location but a little bit grubby”

Normally we would overlook minor things like cobwebs however when we found a jug containing a substance that smelled like vomit, we were glad to be leaving.

Lovely. Clean and comfortable. Cosy on a rainy night! Saw a tui singing its heart out on the bush walk to the old graveyard.

Location, quiet, staff performance”

Fantastic little place tucked away in collingwood, our room was great with a small kitchenette also. The owner, Darren, was very friendly and it felt like a warm place to stay due to the friendly nature of the owner. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others. The place was clean.

Quiet relaxing friendly accommodation”

We stayed here for two nights in a studio unit constructed in the old police station. There were two units both self contained with other self contained apartments at the rear of the property. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Collingwood is a small town with a history close and to the beach. Have a look in the little museum across the road. Don't miss salmon fishing at Takaka, Wharaiki beach and Farewell spit

Really comfortable stay. Room is nice, big, and the bed is really comfortable. Internet is fast which really helps. Owner is friendly and really knowledgeable about the surrounding area, attractions, and places to eat. Highly recommended to stay in here.
