We stayed in the Ribble room at the front of the hotel. With single glazed windows and the proximity to the road and roundabout the traffic noise was considerable resulting in a broken nights sleep. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. We only had one tea bag on the tray for our morning brew. Poor attention to detail from housekeeping. Breakfast was a take it or leave it option. Cooked and nothing else apart from some cereal and a few bruised apples. The cooked breakfast was very poor. The bacon, smoked, was overcooked and dry. The grilled tomato was hard, the fried egg was greasy and the mushrooms incinerated. The was a round of black pudding which I didn’t even touch. There was no option to choose any items, no breakfast menu and no beans on offer. Seriously, if the only option for breakfast is a cooked one, make it edible. The room was clean but a little tired in places. The shower had little power or volume of water. There was evidence of black mould on the sealant around the shower tray.

it is in a good location. it has shops relatively close. 15-20 mins walking from city centre. buses and petrol station near. good service, quiet and clean.
