Excellent”

If you're looking for somewhere that's not too flash for a quick stay, this place is great - Rooms warm, and reasonable (for location) if a little threadbare - Reception staff are very nice (if a little understaffed and stretched) - Could do with a bit of basic updating but over all ok. If you're in town for a gig and happy to rough it a bit, this place is great.

Fantastic Location”

They allowed us into our room before the scheduled time as it was ready. Both the stair carpet & the one in the room needed throwing out & replacing. But with a high turnover of customers, it's understandable. One of the mattresses needed replacing as it sunk in the middle. Other than that, great. Staff were delightful.

Terrible rooms condition but polite staffs”

Even though, the location was quite good and the staff were polite and nice. The conditions of the rooms was terrible ( not have beem cleaning properly ) then when I asked kindly for another room, they gave me a cleaner room but with a glass window and door connected with a garden which was very difficult to sleep at 8°C/9°C. I’ve asked for a chair because I was in the company of an elder person but they didn’t have any, after that I didn’t want to say anything to the reception even if the toilet had some problems with the flush.

Good”

Large comfy bed in convenient location. Bathroom was tiny, I had to keep the shower curtain open to have enough space, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling and parts of the wall, the curtains did not cover the whole window which was very annoying in the morning. But hey, hotels are expensive in London and at least the bed was big and very comfortable and the location really practical.

My belongings were stolen and the hotel is not concerned”

I booked two nights at the hotel and left my belongings in the room after the first. Sports wear, 2 tops, a pair of trousers, face cream, toothpaste and a pair of socks. I came back to the room and couldn't find any of the items i left in the room. When i inquired at the reception after arguing with the receptionist who didn't want to know anything about it, he contacted the housekeeper who replied that she "threw away my belongings because she thought they were garbage". The cost 200 pounds. However, there is no left and found section at the hotel and the hotel is not responsible for the stolen items by the housekeeper. My items were stolen. I didn't leave them behind because I was staying at the hotel for 2 nights. When agoda emailed the manager, he asked that I provide a proof for these items. If you stay at the hotel, consider that your items will be stolen if the housekeeper likes them and they will just pretend that they threw them away because they thought they were garbage.

Lost a bag after check-out!”

Location is probably the best thing about the place. Just next to everything with 2 underground stations a few minutes walk to get you to other places. We kept our bags after check-out in the room provided but ended up losing one small brown bag. Be careful when storing bags before check-in or after check-out. Otherwise, the location of this place is simply superb.

Bizarre”

This hotel makes me incredibly sad. It’s in an amazing location and the exterior of the building is lovely. The staff, also, seemed nice. But the state of the place internally is just bizarre. Every choice, when it comes to design, or maintenance, seems to have been taken by a mad man. It’s like they have set out to spend as little money on it as they can. For example, there were four light switches in my room, but no light. The only light was above a mirror and that turned off at 10pm and I couldn’t turn it back on. The toilet, a floor below me, also had no working light. The mattresses on the roof outside my room’s window looked in better condition than the one I slept on, despite them moulding away. There was also no bin in the room, and I’m guessing that’s because the owners view the whole place as a skip and therefore see no reason for bins. This hotel is a roof, that is it. A roof and a shower you have to walk half a mile to get to. £25 for a roof in central London is ok I guess

Plumbing problems in two rooms”

Our collegue had no warm water for two days in her room, after she changed the room it was OK. We lost cold water in ours after two days. It was inconvenient especially in case of the toilet (we had to use a teapot to flush), and the shower (only very hot water - there was no bath to cool it down, so it's hard to wash without burning yourself). The staff tried to do something, but it worked just for a few hours and the problems reapeared. They said it's beacause of old plumbing. The bed linen, despite the fact they smelled as newly washed, had suspicious-looking stains in two cases - like dried blood in one case and a shoe sole in another. I guess the pictures on their website show their best room from the best angle ten years ago. The location is fine, however. Hyde Park is near and it's five minutes stroll from Bayswater Underground station and a bit more from Queensway. The parallel street with the tube stations is full of nice restaurants and gift shops with reasonable prices.

Awful hotel particularly staff and some rooms ”

I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions for lack of options and for the price, but I never had a good experience. Single rooms always have something that is not working, like heating, etc..and no proper duvet to cover in winter time,. One time, I had my items all stolen by the housekeeper although I was staying for 3 nights. Even when i spoke to the manager, no action was taken. My last stay was even most horrible, as the receptionist, and most of them are, very very rude and not cooperating at all. I booked a single room with a toilet and a shower on my mobile app on agoda, and arrived to the hotel to be given a room with external toilet. The receptionist accused me lying, agoda took more than 1 hour 30 minutes to admit that this detail was not showing on mobile app but on the desktop. The whole experience was horrible as I had to look for another hotel that night and it was a Saturday night in London. Horrible experience as always.

No hot water. Unhelpful staff. Dirty towels and poor quality mattress and bedding.”

Great location a short walk from Queensway tube station. I understand the room was a good price however I did expect better quality. There was no hot water in our room and when we alerted the reception staff they just said “ok thank you I’ll note it down”. No sorry about that or any attempt to sort it so we could have a shower. The towels had long black hairs in and the pillows were so thin you might as well not have had one. And although WiFi was available we could not reach this from our room.
