Thurso Townhouse

spotlessly clean. downstairs is great with a comfortable lounge and well equipped kitchen. TV and Wi-Fi also good. off street parking. comfortable bed

we would have preferred a shower and toilet in a separate room from the bedroom. the toilet is in the bedroom with a modesty screen. this seemed weird and we were reluctant to use the toilet if the other person was in the bed. it wasn’t clear when we booked that this was the situation

The self contained accommodation was very comfortable and felt private even though it is attached to the owners dwelling.

I found the bath/hand shower difficult to use without getting water around the bath, a shower would gave been preferable and also a wash hand basin upstairs.

The apartment has a delightful living room with a fully equipped kitchen and a large table. We found a complimentary bottle of milk and biscuits for us, and that's was highly appreciated! There's a pleasant outside porch. Location is perfect and quiet.

The toilet is separated from the bedroom only by a wooden screen! Moreover there's no handbasin in the bathroom area! This was incredible! You need a lot of intimacy with the person you're sharing the bedroom. It was just for two nights and that absurd situation could be ok, but I really could not think of a longer stay with such a privation of intimacy!

The property was quite quirky with a Bath in the bedroom which was fun. It was beautifully decorated and furnished with some lovely paintings and artefacts throughout. The lounge area was really comfortable and spacious. Lovely big kitchen with all that we needed plus a large dining table. Really helpful to have a washing machine plus a very efficient dryer. Very effective blackout blinds and a really comfortable bed. The owner had put milk in the fridge before we arrived and some packets of biscuits. She was very friendly and available for advice should we need it. Parking was great and there was a verandah and seating area outside in the garden we could use. We loved staying there!

Toilet in the bedroom and no sink

The location was fine and on entry the property was stunning. Large lounge and kitchen, tastefully furnished. The bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom was part of the bedroom, no separation, except for a small cheap wooden folding screen. The bathroom was the main problem for us. There was a stylish large bath which only had a hand held hose for the shower. There were no shower curtains or the like so we were concerned about the water going all over the room. It was also difficult getting out of the bath as it was very deep, with no side handles or supports. Also there wasn't a hand basin in the room. A plastic bucket and jug were provided but these seemed very primitive for such a nice unit. The lack of a proper bathroom, without a shower or hand basin made it an uncomfortable stay.

if possible I would have fashioned a more permanent screen for the toilet area. the open plan bath not a problem but if I was sharing bed with someone else maybe a little bit more privacy/ discretion for toilet

Good location and a great space

The downstairs of the property is extremely spacious and comfortable. Good wifi. Sky TV, including Sky Sports. Very friendly hosts. 5 minute walk into town. Very well equipped. All very good.

The open plan bedroom upstairs, incorporating bath and toilet was not to our liking, to be honest. Maybe that's us, but we prefer a little privacy. No sink upstairs, bowl and jug provided.

A comfy home from home experience. This is my 9th stay in this property. It has a homely feel. It has everything I need and is a good base for working in the area. I have met the hosts a couple of times and they are very helpful and friendly, but not in your face. They leave you to enjoy your privacy.

There was nothing, not to like.

This tiny hidden gem of a self catering accommodation was just wonderful. It was peaceful and full of surprises. the hosts allowed us to charge our electric car on their driveway overnight which enabled us to get on our way the next morning and enjoy our road trip. The accommodation itself was wonderful with lots of information about the town and things to do. A great base for exploring the highlands of Scotland.

I wish we had more time there to fully experience everything that this accommodation had to offer. It was perfect for movie nights but we were exhausted and went straight to bed after a hot bath. I think that the bathroom facilities would get on my nerves after a few days but it was really fun for a night or two so not too much of a bother.

A lovely clean beautifully furnished property in a quiet and private location with Sky Sports which was the highlight for my footie mad husband. A lovely little covered veranda to sit and have my morning coffee.

The location was amazing. My husband and I are doing the North Coast 500 and this was a great base! Thurso itself is also nice to explore. The Townhouse was modern, clean and well equipped. The private garden area is a little suntrap!! We would highly recommend this property!!

Lovely apartment with lots of space. Not overlooked either. Kitchen set up nicely and made a nice change from hotels.

No sink in the open bathroom. Advertised as a beachfront property and actually in a town street. No plugs in the bedroom .
