Lack of space in bathroom ”

Stayed six nights in the deluxe king room. The bathroom wash basin is too small. Cannot brush teeth and wash face without hitting the taps and the glass tray over the basin. Very tight all round in space in the bathroom.

Great Location ”

An amazing location and a beautiful hotel. The staff are great both check in and check out were nice and easy. Rooms were clean (a little tired in places and not spotless) but you are paying for the location ! Slap bang in the Center a two min walk to everything. Breakfast was great and never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated all in all a great stay.

Bad room”

The room wasn't up to the normal high standards of Double Tree. It was tired and forgotten. Dirty taps, shower door broken, dirt and grime in the shower, no heating in bathroom. Bedroom dusty, and window sills grimy, builders rubble showing behind a door inside the bedroom. Carpets needed a good hoovering.

Our room was in the old section of the hotel. Noisy creaking floorboards in corridor next to room as well as being next to kitchen. Was constantly woken up by noise. Told reception when checking out but no one has contacted me.

Nice hotel. Big room for family. ”

Pros- room are big, aircon in the room, coffee and tea provided Cons - not able to eat at the hotel resturant due to function. Room service not to expectation, too few selection for room service. Family room located on another block of building.

Conveniently located hotel with pleasant interior”

This was a great hotel that I got from agoda at a value for money price. The lobby and restaurant were very aesthetically designed. Room was great comfortable beds, a heater, and a huge bathroom. The hotel is situated just outside the city centre wall, and so walking distance from all the main attractions. Only downside was that parking cost £18 for the hotel and £13 for the public car parks nearby.

Apart from a king size bed and a large tv there was nothing de luxe about the room.The hot water in the shower was only lukewarm!

Very nice hotel ”

Can't fault the hotel or staff but parking is a total con. Just a money making excuse.

Very modern but expensive”

The hotel was newly refurbished and very modern and clean. We stayed in the Outhouse which was a small, you couldn't swing a cat in it, but it was very comfortable. The room had its own temperature control radiator which was really good because sometimes hotels are far too warm. The breakfast was good. Only criticism is that it was very expensive.

Very cold room”

There is 2 doors (Like an emergency door) in the room so it is very cold. Toilet is too big and cold as well. It is not proper room layout. The room is clean but dim. I would not recommend if you want to stay more than 1 day.

I have stayed here multiple times and I have officially have decided this is my favorite home away from home when in York! The ambiance is absolutely breathtaking. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The welcome cookies make your mouth water and the location couldn’t be more perfect! A++ all around!

I have stayed in York many times. Once I found this hotel ... well all I can say it I am now Glued to it. They take amazing care of you, their staff is ver kind and gracious! The lobby is to die for, you will want to just hang out and eat the incredible complimentary cookies that become an instant addiction. The location is everything, just across the street from entering the York Center. A++

We enjoyed being across from Goodramgate, it was close to the York Minster, sites and shopping and a 1/2 hour walk from the train station with luggage. A cab ride will run about 10 pounds.
