The Hampton by Hilton Newcastle is about a two minute walk from the Newcastle Central Railway station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with choices of fruit, fruit juices, pastries, coffees, teas, sausages, bacon and cereals. We stayed in both a double room and a family room. The double room was very comfortable and the family room was very large. Bathrooms great and water pressure very good. Very convenient to get to because of location. Variety of restaurants around the hotel because of the location.

Lovely hotel, very central right across from train station ...lots of bars & restaurants around. The room was nice apart from the cracked sink in the bathroom, also there was 3 of us and the room was set up for two ....only 2 cups for tea/ coffee plus 2 glasses in bathroom for brushing teeth..phoned down to reception who said they would get some up ASAP....but left and still waiting on them appearing. Breakfast was good full English buffet style ...cereals......cheeses...ham...croissants...pastries. Staff very smart & friendly. Security was excellent could only access lifts with room card .... late at night coming back there was security guards taking your name & room number . Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent location”

The location is about the only reason for returning to stay with Hampton. Breakfast preparation are disappointing some mornings, with regular items missing. For example, the waffles making corner. One of the mornings, the waffle mix was so watered, everyone was struggling to do it properly. The spread is exactly the same as my stay 1.5years ago! A refresh would have been great. Cleanliness at breakfast and in the room can greatly improve.

Great location”

This is my 3rd stay with Hampton at Hilton in Newcastle. The location is the main reason for our return. Unfortunately, service and cleanliness could do with some improvement. My requests for high floor was not met although I booked the same time as a colleague. Maybe it is because I booked through a 3rd-party site whilst she booked directly. Quite disappointing.

Excellent Location and Friendliness for a trip to Newcastle ”

Location is ideal for a short trip to Newcastle. Rooms fine and the staff very friendly helped make this the ideal place to stay for us. he only down side was the room was very hot and the windows couldn't be opened to let in some cooler air. We would certainly come here when we visit Newcastle again.

I couldn’t find the hotel as first as the sign for the hotel was not clear as you have used the lift to 1 floor to get to reception. But apart from that everything was great . Good location, right opposite train station/ bar and restaurant.

Central locatio ”

The hotel location is great .The check in and out was very smooth.Good breakfast with mainly the same daily . rooms has no fridges .Also need to put the standard ameneties in Bath room .other wise I had lovely stay at the Hampton .The hotels staff are great .will stay again when Im in Newcastle.

This hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Brilliant location beside train station & taxi rank. Very Comfortable, clean & tidy. Good size rooms. Nice decor inside rooms. Great shower. Good breakfast.

This is a nice hotel ideally situated for the train station & city centre . Good value for money with friendly staff , clean modern rooms with nice beds but it is above a bar that plays loud pumping music till 2am & as I had an early start the next day I did not get much sleep. I would not stay at this hotel again for that reason.

Bouncers”

Room was ok, bed was small but comfortable and breakfast was good but ridiculously packed with tables so close together people couldn’t get in and out without disturbing others. But what is with the bouncers on the doors? We were held at the door and refused entry until we proved who we were and names ticked off a list. It just stopped short of being patted down before being allowed into our room. After paying nearly £150 for a night we don’t want to be treated like scumbags to get to bed! Would not stay again.

this hotel was in the ideal location. directly located across from the ncl train station. although the hotel was in a great location, i was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. i found hair on the duvets and food crumbs . i spoke to a kind gentleman on front of desk and he was more than happy to help. however, when he reported to the chamber maid, she argued the fact until i showed her and they had to change the room then. i was upgraded to a lovely room with a great view of the hotel. overall, good breakfast, great location. would recommend for a first time visitor of newcastle

Great Location”

We were disappointed that on arrival when we were told there was no parking facilities within the hotel as we were informed otherwise during booking. We either have to park across the street or some 10 mins drive away from hotel. However,staff was very helpful to grant husband to the room prior to our check in as we need to settle the car parking across the street. The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to all major sights. We are happy with the stay overall and will recommend to other guests.

Good location of hotel. However, if service could be improved, it would be an ideal place to stay! 1) Good breakfast however it was so disappointing that on my 3rd day of stay, I was told no waffle as there’s no more waffle mix! I’m a vegetarian and the waffle was my treat in the morning! 2) No ice in the whole hotel!!! I could not even get a few cubes of ice for a cold drink. It has a bar but there’s NO ICE for their hotel guests. Just blows my mind! 3) I checked out and realized I left my mobile phone charger in room. I went online chat and was told to email direct to hotel for faster response. I wrote in, NO response. I sent a reminder and chaser 3-days later and still NO response. Now is the 8th day. Just wonder if this a ghost email where no one will read!!! Super disappointed and sucks services! I really wished the hotel manager would read this and handle my request appropriately and professionally!!!

Great location”

The hotel was right next to the metro station and opposite the train station. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was nice.
