We arrived before checking in time and was informed their were rooms available to get changed as we had traveled and was attending the races Unfortunately so had many others and the room was to late Rooms could do with a lick of paint on walls to refresh them

We loved the location, as had a stroll into the City. I think it was Hayley on reception, very friendly, and quick and easy check in! My daughter might stay there soon with her husband. Would recommend.

having parkin eye do the car park surveillance is terrible - if i go to and park with a hotel, i want to deal with the hotel and with ihg.com, not with an external party whose sole objective is to charge as much as it can and who has no relation with the hotel

Value for money, given three star as I got an online deal for £80 inc breakfast which was about right. No way would I have paid the £170 advertised behind the reception desk, absolutely no value for money at the price. Location, quiet location next to York Racecourse Cleanliness, there had been some recent refurbishment to the room indicated by the strong smell of paint. NB whoever checks the painters finishing isn't doing their job well if the drops and splashes of paint on the bathroom floor are anything to go by. Staff, on arrival at reception desk I had to stand and wait while the receptionist finished her call to a colleague (clearly customers do not come first). Facilities,I didn't really spend a lot of time in the room until I was going to bed and heard a very clear conversation through a door into the next room! I made reception aware I wasn't happy but at 2200 was too tired to move. Didn't need an alarm in the morning because of the noise.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff behind the bar, in reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and clean, plenty of room for two. The bathroom a little cramped, but a really good shower. Great to have free parking.

Weekend break”

Super hotel and staff, very comfortable room, bathroom a little small, no heating in our room but the staff brought us an electric fire which was adequate.

Holiday in York”

In this chilling weather the heater in the hotel broke down. There is not even a single bottle of drinking water for arriving guests. The extra bed left behind from the previous guests were not removed, this leaving little space in the room.

Very clean , plesent on a down side the bar was a little on the expescive side more peole would say in the bar if it was a little cheaper over all 9/10

Well placed for the city and races”

On the edge of the racecourse, and with bus stops to the city just outside the hotel, this is a well placed hotel for visiting York and the races. There is a decent sized car park, free to guests, and a speedy check-in and out facility. We found the staff in reception, bar and breakfast room both pleasant and attentive. Rooms were reasonably spacious, well furnished and stocked, and clean. My only recommendation for improvement would be for 2 comfortable chairs in the double rooms, rather than 1.

Deposit has not been returned”

When checking in, the reception requested the deposit. The hotel deducted the deposit from my debit account. They said the deposit would be returned to my debit account soon after my departure. Ten days have been past and I still haven't received it. I asked for multiple times, no reaction so far. My mistake was I believed their deposit story.

Bathroom facility not working: bathroom door and shower screen can't be closed properly. Dirty carpets and no safe.”
