Whilst the hotel stay was nice, I had booked a King Size room with a view of Birmingham. On arrival we were told/asked you have booked a mobility room, not wishing to prevent someone with needs from having such a room I felt we were encouraged to change the room. We then had a standard with a view that could be better. But the room was nice and di not spoil the stay. What has annoyed me is a £40 print of my card was taken and we were told if not used would not be charged. Today it has been taken when we used no room facility OR booked anything to our room. I have just telephoned to question this and on confirming it was last friday 25 February, I got a just one moment to then have a ringtone which I assume was from being a transfer and no one answered. This level of service without the good manners to either tell me I had come through to the wrong place and give me details of where I should have called !!!! It has ruined what we though was a pleasant stay. the review only give a yes or no option and I would add a don't know until this is sorted out

Hotel was fine they double charged me for my stay and still haven’t refunded my money it’s been 4 days no way of contacting finance department because no one is ever available and the staff at front desk can’t seem to help you unless you want to book a room !!!

Mattress are the worst ever”
Everything is perfect in this hotel, but part from the mattress, the worst mattress I ever sleeped on, can’t believe is 4 stars hotel, I was sleep in a twin bed with my friend, the bed is too soft, and when you lay on it, it will sink in to the middle, so both of us feels unbalanced. I can’t sleep till the middle of the night coz always sink in to the middle. I went to lots of hotel, travel all over the world, but this bed is the worst bed ever.

Fabulous overnight stay ”
Fabulous hotel, totally brilliant, helpful and patient staff from reception especially Katie through to the Bar Eric and restaurant Cyril and Anna. Most wonderful experience and location of hotel perfect for all our requirements and needs.

Would not let me change booking despite snow and schools closed etc. So stayed at another hotel the day after and was made to pay for empty room. Was booked through agency but agency told me in writing problem was with hotel. Outrageous, not fit for business users or anyone else

Great hotel, great location”
Our second visit in as many months. Comfortable rooms, great location for city centre and canal walks. Incredibly helpful staff. Plus free chocolate bars on arrival. What's not to like?

Outstanding Building with Breathe Taking Views”
I found the hotel very pleasant and very under priced. Rooms were outstanding and the views from the windows were breathe taking. Staff were friendly and the Marco-Pierre White restaurant was excellent.

not classified as executive room ”
The room was supposed to be " king executive" but nothing was as such. Regular double continental bed, overcrowded with Huuuge wardrobe, glass door in the bathroom which light up the whole bedroom when using the bathroom during the night, room very small, the small narrow window which open up on the town feels mean and tho you just want to look outside and peer on the top of the city. Reception room, cold and soulless, giving you the feeling of checking in a budget hotel. I would stay again, as another trial but worried about finding the same problems. Stunning views from the breakfast room specially when you are lucky to have a sunny morning, food very good ( had eggs benedict) staff very charming and attentive.
