Nice location, stylish room”
Not every receptionists were friendly, the first receptionist when we want to drop our bags before check in was quite rude. It gave us a poor impression but then the rest of the team and the room was good.

The styling of the rooms is exceptional my room had wooden beams and I believe that all the other rooms have some part of the history on show .. The location is excellent you walk out of the door and you in the centre of York ...all the facilities including the coffee machine were well thought about ... I actually have nothing negative to say about this hotel and will be using it again !

It is just so York ! Grade II* listed building ”
Judges Court is a grade II* listed building, with a very long history . Just like many of the buildings in York, telling their stories. I love the interior design and decoration of Judges Court. The hotel maintains a feeling of an old townhouse , yet , very clean and tidy. The toilet is clean and modern. Shower gel and shampoo is good. Towels are clean and white. The bed is good too, not too soft or stiff. Our room is #16 on the top floor. Our room is not big due to the ceiling is slant. We have a window facing the court in front of the hotel main entrance, surrounding by other buildings’ brick walls. No nice scenery, we can still see the blue sky and the birds on other building , it is comfy and special. It just not simply feel like a hotel. The room is a little hot in the afternoon due to heatwave during my visit , and our room is under the roof. But at night and morning is still perfect without air conditioner. The light setting in the room is not very good. The bedside lights are not installed at a very good angle , they seems directly point too close to my face , can’t really use those for reading when lying down on bed. But a little bit dark at the bed area after turning them off. The other shortcoming is the floor near the corner is slant , stuff put on the bedside table is sliding down. The staffs are nice and friendly. I especially appreciate the inbox messages sent via Agoda while before we check in, the message is very detailed and useful (e.g. recommended where to park) . They also send a thank you message after our stay. Overall is a very good experience to stay in Judges Court and this beautiful city.

Great Location”
Great location. Staff so-so, but not that we needed assistance or anything during our stay, but they can be warmer. Our room was at the basement, and somehow there was a faint smell of sewer maybe because our window was on the same level as the street.

Disappointing ”
Room quite small for price but I think that's pot luck they do have bigger rooms. Being central it's quite noisy with the clubbers in the evening and the bar deliveries in the morning to surrounding pubs. Not a relaxing stay so l wouldnt revisit, although a quirky little place.

Great city centre hotel.”
Great, secluded hotel in the centre of York. Perfect for what we wanted a weekend away as a couple, situated right in the middle of the shops and bars/restaurants, but set away from the main street so was quieter than expected. The room (Room 11) itself was great, smaller than expected for the price but lovely enough, large bathroom, and coffee machine and kettle provided....and mini bar (although we didn't use it).

We booked this lovely boutique hotel for 2 days. good location in city center,10mins walk to York station and walking distance of all major attractions. The bed is super comfortable. Room size is big enough. Highly recommend.

Love this place”
I was sad to only have one night here! The location is ideal, the place has great character and it's chic but feels like there is real thought and depth to it. Room was well designed, great bathroom, very comfortable bed. They just need to dump all these signs that say "Did I just roll my eyes out loud?" What's the message here? The sarcasm brings the level down.

Hidden away in the centre of York down small alley is judges court. A quirky and beautiful hotel that captures the charm of York unlike any hotel I have ever stayed in. Brilliant

Lovely boutique hotel, central location!!”
Luxurious boutique hotel, in a fantastic central location. Top quality rooms with top quality fixtures and fittings. Only downside is no restaurant which we knew beforehand so wasn't an issue for us. Breakfast in a bag option available from a local deli, but due to location many places to eat out. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Staff were all lovely too.

Judges court is ideally located and very comfortable. It's courtyard location ensures privacy and quiet. Bed is most comfortable and our bathroom was spacious. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Really, what more could you want. Even your hyper critical Pom would be hard pressed to fault this joint.

Old world charm in the centre of York”
Judges court dates to 1720, though thankfully the facilities are 21st century. The staff are helpful with a refreshing dry British wit. The hotel is at the centre of the old town and within walking distance of all major attractions. Well worth staying at if you visit York

This hotel is very clean and quirky. Beautiful stay, fabulous bath and gorgeous shower. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Could do with sorting the squeaky beds ;)

Stylish and Central Boutique Hotel”
We booked this place last minute for a short break in York. Lovely hotel with only a handful of individual rooms. Ours had a big and comfortable four poster bed and lovely en-suite bathroom. Breakfast is not included which is great so you can eat breakfast at some of Yorks great cafes which are within a couple of minutes. They offer dressing for dinner cocktails which was a nice luxury. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
