Hotel was lovely but expensive at 153 pounds for a night which didn’t include breakfast, plus when booked online it says free parking, then was told at desk it was 5 pounds to park car ??

A gem of a find!”

Really pretty hotel, very scenic. Staff very nice. Good spread of breakfast and reasonable at 14 pounds per person with cereal, yoghurt, pastry, eggs, scrambled and sunny side up, hash browns, mushrooms coffee tea juice !! overlooking the river too! Room was very cosy- tv kettle all good, loved the ginger biscuit and the shortbread- was hungry as arrived from Malaysia very late. Nice to walk from the hotel..Really, this is such a find.

Well when we reached at the site, the entrance was blocked by a delivery van of that hotel. Despite reporting at the reception it wasn’t cleared. We waited for more than half an hour. Our address on their system was wrong (Bangkok, United Kingdom) like seriously? The booking company made this mistake and also they didn’t mention the hotel about a third traveller (toddler) which led to a confusion and delay. First receptionist said they could contact the company on our behalf but then later said we have to do it which wasn’t fair. When booking the hotel we specified three travellers and opted for a large bed as choice was given. However they didn’t do it and we had to adjust on twin beds with a toddler. Very disappointed. Thankfully it was only for one night. Lastly, there was no hot water on the next day morning which was disappointing all together.

Altogether quite a enjoyable stay. Great location however access is a little difficult along a narrow road next to a Toll bridge. The food and hospitality was magnificent however the rooms especially the ones in the prefab at the back are not very soundproof and its possible to hear neighbouring rooms, it is nice to hear the sound of the river flowing along in the morning though.

Excellent river views”

Turned up on one of the wettest weekends, fascinating watch the river passing at speed from the lodge. Rooms spacious and clean. Excellent service from the staff. Will definitely stay there again.

Disappointing ”

The staff were very friendly but a shame the shabbiness and well worn hotel let them down. I felt that the £128.13 for room only was a bit of a rip off. The room size was good but little details such as a badly stained spare pillow, broken bathroom cabinet, big stains on carpet and dingy lighting. We were in a group of 3 couples and our room was by far the better room and that was bad enough!

Fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast rather late Saturday morning if you need an early start.”

Beautiful setting”

Very good value for money and the setting of the hotel was idyllic. We caught the water bus into Bath which was well worth £5 each for the information we were given as we travelled along the river. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the hotel was lovely and clean. Breakfast was delicious and we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Overnight stay”

Stayed in " Superior Room " for one night. Room, bed, and towels top quality, followed in the morning by excellent choice at breakfast. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Close to historic toll bridge, will become self sufficient using power from water wheel later this year

Really enjoyed our stay. Great view of the Avon river from our window. Sits on old toll bridge. Near village with great history and friendly town folk. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nice staff, average room”

Friendly and helpful reception staff. Room was clean but tired, nice bathroom. We didn't use the restaurant or have breakfast so can't comment on the food. Short drive into City Centre and close to countryside for canal/walking/cycling.
