great little hotel fantastic food great reception and bar staff was disappointed at 9.45 a tall guy who does the rooms knocked very loudly on the door to tell us checkout starts at 9am until 11 am ? I informed him that reception told me it was 11am and I was going for breakfast first we had a small child with us and I have never heard of checkout at 9am until 11 am ? from anywhere around the world unless its a Newcastle thing I understand he needs to clean rooms but trying to get rooms empty before time was a bad call for the hotel we actually felt under pressure from this room assistant otherwise I would recommend this hotel the food is great and location by the river is spot on

Weekend in Gateshead ”
The Rivers Hotel is ideally located a 20 minute walk along the river to the Baltic Centre and the centre of Gateshead which proved a great location for us allowing us to be out of the bustle of the centre but close enough to get in. The Hotel has great staff who are always on hand. There was a party in the restaurant that night but we were informed it would end at 11 - and it did. The rooms are basic but have everything you need for a pleasant stay - the teas and coffees in the room are well stocked. Overall a really good stay for the price.

Great Hotel By the River”
Hotel and restaurant are very good value. I paid only 4 pound for a big American burger!!. The location is by the calm and beautiful river. Good if you have a car, bus stop is far away.

Value for money”
Great value for money. Rooms were basic but the hotel was not expensive to stay at and I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the room. Staff were very helpful. I would suggest to getting rid of the black painted walls in the rooms as it made them feel cold. I would stay here again.

View was unbelievable...parking was ok but a bit limited...if ur taking public transport (bus) u will have to walk a bit...

Value for money ”
Newly renovated hotel along river. Staff friendly and helpful. Not close to tramlines (20 minutes walk) but a taxi from Newcastle is about £9. Double bed a little small. Lovely American Dinner serving great breakfast with a view of the river.

Good for a night”
Was great just for the one night to get some sleep but not sure if I'd like to stay too long because the hallways were very loud and walls very thin. Good fun for kids in the garden. The diner is pretty nice by the river.

FANTASTIC STAY AT RIVERS HOTEL”
I loved this hotel. From the time we arrived to the time we left. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is situated on the river's edge and it has a wonderful view. It has an American diner and the food was great. We wish we had more time to spend there and will definitely return one day.

Stayed here for 1 night staff very helpful, hotel by the river. Never used any of the facilities. Would recommend, if you want a place to stay that wasn't expensive. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and a nice pack of biscuits .
