Bathroom was leaking during the entire stay and staff noticed only when water had leaked in to the room in floor below. carpets were with awful smell and require replacing as soon as possible. If you just need a place to sleep, this may be alright

Fine for a night but not longer ”

Stayed for 1 night. You can hear through the walls a water tub being used next door as if it was inside your own room. There was vomit sticking to the carpet in a corner of the hallway. The kettle in the room was a big plus, however the loo had not been properly cleaned, the sheets seemed clean bit with old stains, carpets did not seem clean either. All in all, quite a "stainy" experience - I trust the hotel staff to clean the rooms (obviously not the toilet though), however it is impossible to clean something that has been seemingly dirty for ages (carpets, sheets). Therefore I think that a renovation is highly necessary.

A decent place within walking for the town, restaurants and shopping. They were helpful getting a roll away bed for our 7 year old

we just love the room. its big enough to open our 2 big lungage. clean room and nice staff. they are so helpful. good price for excellence quality. have free parking and delicious hot chocolate for compliments.

we stayed here because the value seemed great. the location was Ok, there was an uphill walk to the hotel so just be prepared for this if you get out of breath easily. the staff I saw wernt excellent, seemed like they didn't really want to be there Tbh. I asked about breakfast times so we didn't miss it to be told we don't do breakfast, haven't done for about 4 yrs, but when you look on this website it clearly shows a kitchen/canteen with continental breakfast available for £4.95! So they defiantly need to update the website in here. on leaving my room when I handed my key in I didn't get a goodbye, thank you for your stay or any communication what so ever, the lady didn't even look up from her paperwork! bit rude I'd say. Then I'd realised once on the train home I had left my watch on the bed in the room so I rang them, emailed them to a response if no property was left in the room. I know for sure it was left on the bed so I'm guessing the housekeeping staff took a fancy to it!

We developed a bug from staying in your hotel, I believe it was unclean and the room was damaged”

This made us feel uneasy, we started being sick during the night, will not be using your hotel again

Great for the price”

I was staying for the Great North Run. On the morning of the race, the hotel had laid out water, fruit & maps to the start line for people to help themselves to. Staff were very friendly. Thought we had an issue with with the TV, spoke to reception & the lady went up straight away & sorted it. Decent shower. Parts of the hotel look dated & feel dated. Close to the town, so could easily walk there & back.

The price was very reasonable and we had a good nights sleep. The cleanliness of the hotel wasn't the greatest, however I wasn't expecting 5*. The staff were lovely and the service was 100%. For a last minute cheap overnight stay I would recommend it.

Room was a bit dirty and really, really humid--like the jungles of Nam. We opened the windows and the roar of drunken pub patrons lulled us to sleep. Good exercise carrying bag upstairs, as there was no elevator.

The hotel is just outside the main city centre, but within easy walk of it, I chose the room for the price but was amazed when I saw the condition of it, the room was spacious and immaculate, an easy 4*, the room was well equipped and in top condition, it looked brand new. The only thing I could say is that people were using it as somewhere to stay when going out on the town, we were woken up in the small hours by the night guard telling next door to keep quiet even though the supposed "noise" they were making hadn't woken us up at all, so if your going out they like you to keep the noise down at night which is only fair, but they will wake most of the entire floor up knocking on your door and telling you off, so your likely to get some disgruntled looks in the morning!!
