No advance notice of in progress refurbishment. Bar shut and being worked on. No staff post check in to check out and no breakfast facilities - although a bag containing a croissant, Apple and fruit juice left in room day before !

The Griffin Inn was absolutely adorable. I felt so at home in my cozy single room. The location was very central making it easy to walk everywhere. I especially appreciated the activity recommendations in the room. I discovered things I didn't even know I wanted to do! I would absolutely stay here again.

About 10 minutes walking distance from Bath Spa railway station. No lift, narrow stairs. Clean room and bathroom. Bed was too soft for my liking, luckily there were 2 pillows provided. Room was facing the main road, and was noisy if you keep the window open. Could hear people talking along the road.

Mixed Experience”
I really wanted to be able to give this place a good review, as I liked the vibe and decor from the get-go, and the staff was friendly overall. However, half of the night we were kept awake by what sounded like a small orgy taking place next door (the walls were thin and the people were very loud). This began at about 2:00 in the morning, and eventually everyone in the room left. At around 5:00 A.M. a woman and her friend returned to the room next door, loudly talking and laughing about what had taken place hours prior. I also heard lots of noise from what sounded like people getting ready downstairs around 7:00 or 7:30 A.M. Despite the things that we did like about the place, this experience was enough to prevent us from returning. If you want to ensure a good night's sleep, I recommend looking elsewhere, as the walls in this place (at least in our room) were very thin.

Friendly, quirky, comfortable”
Lovely old pub in Bath. Good location for walking to sights and shops. I had a comfortable room at the very top and help to get my bag up the stairs. Cosy bar downstairs was in the grip of World Cup fever, but friendly and welcoming, too.

Fantastic place!”
A hidden gem, we booked into here on advice from a colleague and we definitely do not regret it! The most amazing welcoming place with gorgeous rooms and fantastic staff - we had three rooms and all slept like babies. Tanya and Leah could not do enough for us and treated three strangers like long lost friends rather than hotel guests. Greatly appreciated after a long hard day of travel and work - if I’m ever back in Bath I’ll certainly be returning! Thank you ladies

Good value for money ”
Slightly quirky old inn. Comfortable room, well equipped en suite and friendly staff. Let down by room not being serviced on second day of stay and very sparse buffet breakfast, one day this consisted of cereal and slightly dry brioche. No dinner available Mon/Tues. No parking so best to use park and ride for your stay. On the whole would recommend though; lovely inn and good ales. Good value for money.

Location excellent”
The staff here is really nice and personable. The location was everything, close to every attraction in Bath and very walkable. Breakfast included was ok but very basic, breads, cheese, ham, cereals, yogurt etc. It’s also a bit noisy until 11 or so as it’s a bar on the first floor, though that didn’t really bother us. Would stay again as the price was right and location was good.

Lovely little Inn ”
Charming little Inn....room was small, but cozy. Centrally located in Bath and walking distance to everything. Great cooked breakfasts and friendly staff.

The worst hostel ever”
I booked a room for 2 for 2 nights. However, at last minute there was an additional person. When we came to the hotel the staff who checked-in for us said it was okay. But when we came back the hotel at 9:30 pm. There is an other staff shown up and said we can not stay there. It was 10 pm at that moment and we could not find an other hotel for that night. Even now when remember about that night i'm still freak out. I asked him for us to stay just 1 night, we will move next morning but he said "it's your problem". Had never i seen a man that rude. Even i just asked for more 30 mins to find the hotel but he refused rudely. There was no warm water to take shower and the water droped into the below floor. If they had told me that we can not stay with 3 we could book an other hotel, but no, then they kicked us out at the midnight. My email even has not been replied yet. Extremely poor service

I enjoyed my stay at the Griffin Inn. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of 4 hot dishes in addition to the cold buffet. A nice change to have a bit of variety instead of the traditional English breakfast all the time. The only thing that was a bit disorienting was the sloping floor of my room; it made my head spin a bit.

If you want somewhere different with lots of character this is the place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast excellent. Lots of choice with good, efficient service. Beds are clean and the shower hot. Location for a couple of days in Bath, perfect.

Very overpriced for what you get. Pros: comfy bed, great location, tea &coffee in the room. Cons: very basic particularly the bathrooms which are not really fit for purpose (split lino flooring, broken extractor fan, mouldy grouting). Really overpriced for what you get but this may have been inflated by the fact we were there over graduation weekend.

Very cute old building with pub. Rooms nicely done up though. Chatty staff. Cooked breakfast very basic but nice cereals breads etc. Boiler broke during our stay so cold water for showers 😩

Good location”
We only had one night, not long enough I'm afraid, this location is very good for someone without a car, otherwise look elsewhere. Also there are many stairs, so if you have a mobility issue look elsewhere, other wise, fantastic, loved the quirky style, the funny floor and roof levels, every thing is 'wonky' due to the game I expect, Fantastic breakfast and proper plunger coffee, yummm
