Positives: Friendly barman, sorted us out with the key and showed to our room, asking us if we wanted a hand with bags. Free parking with security cameras on the back of the pub (remember to tell staff that you've come in car and they will write your reg down, as there are signs for illegal parking). I requested a walk in shower due to using crutches and that wasn't a problem. There were 2 short flights of stairs (around 5 steps on each) to our room which wasn't a problem for me as it had a banister to hold on to. The pub had a nice small private beer garden hidden from the carpark with trees.

Great Value For Money”

Excellent pub with rooms. Dealt mostly with Dan, the owner, who was very friendly and helpful and cooked a smashing English breakfast. The pub had plenty of atmosphere but on warm evenings most of the customers spent time outside in the well equipped garden area. My double bedroom was a good size, well decorated, had a very comfortable bed, plenty of cupboard/wardrobe space, and a good clean bathroom with shower. The location is within walking distance of the city centre and close to the river with a very pleasant tree lined walkway. All in all a very good find.

Pub is a little dated”

Room was nice though. Nice bed linen but mattress a bit basic. However very reasonably priced and perfect for what we needed.

Quick over night stay”

Booked to stay in the pub due to a late decision to have a night away in York and hotel prices overall seemed particularly expensive. Although it was only a quick stay, the staff here were very friendly and helpful. Room was large and perfect if not a little tired but absolutely no issues. You get what you pay for. Wouldn’t have an issue staying here again
