Staff very friendly. Nice facilities. Pool sauna etc. Nice stay easy access had to pay for parking. Room was clean but need some maintenance. Restaurant & food excellent. Would stay there again when in the area.

Had an amazing stay with my partner very relaxing spa. Staff was always on hand and very helpful whenever needed it, nothing was to much for them . Will definitely be returning

The room wasn’t as clean as I would expect. The bed was obviously very old as dipped in the middle. There was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the corridors. But the lady that was on the front desk everyday was lovely and helpful.

My boyfriend booked this hotel for my birthday. It is by far the nicest hotel we have stayed at and was a really lovely break. The staff were so lovely and were always there to help us when we needed. Room was very spacious and we had everything we needed. Only downside is if you don’t drive it’s about a 15 minute walk to the closest bus stop and 10-15 minutes to the nearest supermarket. There is a costa right next door though!! We are planning on booking a suite for our anniversary in August and to use the facilities like the pool and try the restaurant.

Only downsides were the matress being too soft (personal preference), and the lift being out of order. That said, I would be happy to stay there again.

Not recommended ”
Very noisy from neighbours, a barking dog in one of the rooms, and the boiler starting up at 5am. Mouldy shower sheet needs to be replaced in the single room I stayed in, also the hairdryer was broken. Receptionists were very pleasant, but wearing coats behind the desk doesn’t inspire confidence. However the food in the new restaurant was very good. Finally I was never able to get anyone to answer the phone. Not a good impression on the whole

Cheap and value for money”
This is a cheap hotel. Although it needs renovation, it is in the process, but will prob take time. Rooms are clean and dated. The first room I was allocated was not up to standard, and I went to reception and they were very helpful and upgraded me for free to a bigger room. It was clean and comfy. Again dated but to be expected. Other hotel in area are double price but lack the personal feel of this. It has a pool, which is heated and really war, and a lovely assent to the hotel. It also has a plunge pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna room, which is included in the price of the room , oh, and Free parking per night, which again you have to pay for elsewhere. Nothing is too much for the staff. I was dubious about staying here, as I read the reviews, after booking, but it am glad I stayed, as I has a comfortable pleasant stay, and it was made better by saving over £90 pn if I had booked a mile down the road in different hotel, where I would of paid more for room, parking and gym access. Look above the reviews, open your mi d to dated interior, and see it as traditional, enjoy the pool and leisure accessories, and enjoy the savings, esp in todays climate.

Mixed feeling”
Firstly, the staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Could not fault them at all. The hotel is getting a facelift, not sure if the rooms are included in this but they desperately need a refresh. Bathroom was tired and needed a good regrout and shower curtain replace. Bedrooms were tired also, duvet cover did not fit properly and was ripped at the seams. There were always towels or sheets left on the floor of the corridors, not sure what that was all about but it made the floor we were on look really untidy and unkept. Hotel has such potential, but rooms needs an update desperately.

Single traveller”
Had a good price deal but as per single traveller more expensive than couple travelling. Hotel had long corridors and lots of 2-3 steps more difficult for older traveller and a bit eerie. Otherwise excellent food really good.

December is a frantically busy for all hotels offering festive party opportunities. This year, other diners were catered for much better than previously - well done on listening to my previous feedback. A dip in the lovely warm pool was very welcome after a busy day loading, driving, unoading anf setting up for a textile event on the Saturday. The chocolate sphere dessert was sinfully scrumptious.

The king size bed turned out to be a double there was no dressing table chair there was no bottled water in the room despite it being supposedly an Executive room the furniture was old and tatty very dated. There is constant noise going on all night from what reception told me is the heating system like a loud droning whooshing noise every few seconds which keeps you awake i thought this may have been fixed in the 2 years since we were last there but no it had not despite us being on another side of the hotel.The bar facilities are poor in our opinion the hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment.

For a Friday eve no bar staff?? You would need to dine out and not return for a night cap as the bar not attended, no guests or functions.
