Good hostel facilities. Bit pricey for a hostel, but maybe that was just the nights I booked. Be prepared for lots of steps, but rewarding views

Perfect accommodation to visit Whitby Abbey”

We went with a family of 2 small children and 3 adults (1 of which, a senior). The hostel was initially hard to find as it didn't particularly have any signage towards it. We ended up walking ALL around with our luggages before finding the entrance and realising that we didn't need to walk that way. We had our own simple showers and toilets. (You get what you pay for). The carpets were a bit.... overused. And we had views to a carpark. But for the price we paid, we're not complaining. It was clean enough. Bare minimum. There are communal sitting rooms and a kitchen. BUT the best bit was that we got complimentary tickets to visit Whitby Abbey! We enjoyed the Dracula Experience and had a really day out. (OMG don't miss that Dracula Experience, it's the best EVER!) The hostel is basically attached to the Abbey. There's free parking. It was in a way perfect for us! It was cheap, it had everything we needed, and we got free tickets!

Very comfortable, clean, and spacious room. Located in a beatific and well-preserved heritage building right next to Whitby Abbey. The only complaint was that there was a metallic noise (coming out from the toilet maybe? I was in room 13) going on and on throughout the time, making it a difficult to fall asleep. And I even got woken up several times in the middle of the night. But all in all I still enjoyed my stay.

The hostel has a fabulous location and it was surprisingly comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Public areas were clean and made it more fun. The best extra was as we left we got given comp tickets from yha to enter whitby abbey! Thank you.

Very close to the town centre, follow the 199 steps. The hostel was pretty big and the surrounding area was just awesome with a spectacular view of Whitney town! Whitbey abbey was located just next to the hostel , free complimentary entrance if you stay at the hostel, remember to ask when you check in. Staff were helpful and friendly. There is a tea room to order your food and also a self-catering kitchen to do your own cooking which was very convenient for us with children. There is WiFi connection around the ground floor area in the tea room, family room and tv room. We all had a lovely time, will definitely stay again when we visit Whitbey next time.

Perfect stay”

It was the best YHA I've ever stayed. It was so nice and lovely that I regretted to stay only for 1 night. The building itself has a long history that gives us a unique experience to stay. The location was perfect. It located just next to the Whitby Abbey and St Mary's Church. The hostel is group and family friendly. This YHA doesn't offer a typical self-catering kitchen but also a cafe which reliefs us from the hassle to cook. The only problem will be parking space. The YHA Whitby has limited car parking space and the nearest council car parking will be about 5-10 minutes walk from the accommodation. The council car parking has plenty of space and is free during winter. But it is so dark that you will require bringing a torch to walk to and fro the YHA Whitby. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay with YHA Whitby and will come back for sure.

駅、バス停から坂の上まで階段を上がって１５分、アクセスはよくないですが、丘の上なので見晴らしはとてもいいです。 古く歴史のある建物ですが、広く清潔でとても良いホステルでした。
