Bad: The location is on the outskirts of Kendal and its approach is from the dual carriageway. This means returning to it, unless you don't leave the premises, means driving past it on the opposite carriageway and driving all the way back. We took the wrong exit from the roundabout (in the dark) and ended up going south on the M6 for many miles before we could exit!! Good: It's an excellent stop-off when making a long journey. Very clean, lovely staff and very affordable. If you like snacks, there's a vending machine in the foyer.

Scary!”
Stayed in room 104.long day so had early night. Woke up at 10.00 by someone unlocking our door, coming in shouting an alarm was going off downstairs and it was located to our room. A room which was pitch black and absolute silence. We were so shocked didn’t say anything, she repeated it and just went. Reported it to manager in morning. He apologised and said he would get to the bottom of it, and send us a voucher. Four days later nothing. I don’t want a voucher, but an email with an explanation would have been good, as to how someone can just enter a room while we were asleep. Disappointed he found it so trivial, did he not believe us, did he look at the cctv footage, what was the alarm, we’re was this silent alarm and why was it going off? We’re both in our sixties, we’ve stayed there many times over many years, and will continue too. This was very frightening, I wouldn’t want it to happen to anyone else. Thank god, I wasn’t on my own.

Not enjoyable ”
Firstly charging for parking in semi rural area seems over the top. Room had no soap in the shower, no toilet brush and a dirty rug was left on a shelf. Receptionist did what she could; it’s management that is the problem here by not training/teaching the cleaning staff their duties. Very disappointed and a dissatisfied customer.

This was a very clean and comfortable place to stay. Our only reservation would be the £3 charge for parking overnight.

Stopover with family and dog”
Great basic little hotel for an easy overnight stopover, great location to get back on the road. Lake distinct within easy reach. Path round back to walk dog and small shop at petrol station. Staff couldn’t do enough to help which was great. Only downside is road is very busy, our room was on back so was nice and quiet, may be different if room was on front.

On my arrival I was greeted by the manager (Dave). I had a few problems to resolve but this Man went the extra mile to assist me. A very polite and helpful person - we need more like him - A Peoples person.

I came with my 3 children it was amazing to see the location of the hotel . Room was brilliant , clean , well temperatures. I would like to mention reception staff(don’t know the name) was very welcoming and direct . Great service would definitely add this hotel to my favourite list to stay and would come back here again . Thanks Ozy Only improvement would be bathroom needs little more modern but was clean enough to use
