Definitely worth it”
Travelodge has always met my needs of a bed and breakfast options in the morning, although on this occasion the very important coffee machine in the restaurant wasn't working! I suggest you think about location when registering - I was allocated a first floor room overlooking the front entrance and not only was the road outside surprisingly busy throughout the night, despite closing my window, but I also couldn't help hearing the chatter of the smokers who were obviously standing outside the entrance. So I didn't sleep very well! Next time I'll ask for the top floor at the back of the hotel. But the room was fine and the staff were very welcoming.

Value for money. Location near to Tower Bridge, just within walking range. Within Muslim area and easy to get halal food.

Very good”
This travel lodge was what we expected. We knew it was noisy due to the trains but with the windows shut it was fine. The room was clean and perfectly suited for a short stay. The staff were very helpful anf welcoming. The position was very good for London. Bridge and the east. We got city bikes, which are just around the corner. They were fantastic and made it easy to get around the city. I would recommend the red chilli restaurant which is just at the end of the street. A fantastic curry had by all. I might have felt a little uneasy on my own at night as the hotel entrance was on a quiet back rd. All in all a very good and cheap trip.

Lovely budget accommodation in London”
The hotel is located at a convenient spot between Tower Hill and Aldgate East Stations, though the position next to the DLR track feels a bit too quiet at night. Equipment-wise, I was sightseeing in the day and working on my laptop at night, so the provision of a desk and a chair perfectly suited my needs. The room was quite spacious relative to its price. Facilities outside the room are rather limited though.

Read te small print”
They said it included breakfast then demanded a small fortune for breakfast. They said if you have a problem to take it up with Agoda. Not really what I was looking for.

The room was clean and tidy, the staffs are friendly. I think the only minus point is the low soundproof of the room. I can hear clearly my next door neighbour so it could be quite annoying a little bit but it was not much troublesome.

Small rooms, terrible showers, paid for wifi”
The showers are shocking. They go from freezing to scolding hot in seconds and fluctuate between the two. The rooms are small, but alright. The staff was friendly.

No AC was available on one of the hottest day of the year. Why would you have a central AC system if you're not going to use on such a day.

Unclean and loud”
Not a nice stay, dirty bathroom, unclean room. Not sound proof can hear the neighbours. The card machine didn't work so we couldn't even get food in the evening. Staff are nice, but the stay was awful never using Travelodge again I feel sick thinking about it

Most uncomfortable hotel I’ve ever experienced ”
Only good thing about this place is the location, if you’re a tourist on budget. Other than that it is a dreadful place to stay. They have a train running behind the building making it impossible to sleep at night. Despite advertising an early check in option for £10 I was left waiting at reception for 4 hours after a 7 hour flight (because I was told that there are no rooms left) , which one of the staff told me later on was not true. After I was allowed to finally get into one of the rooms there was no soap in the bathroom and towels were damp and used, there was an ironing board with no iron and the room was freezing because it has small electric heater that was turned off (the room became warm again after I turned it back on). The following morning , one of the girls at reception was very nice and helped find an iron for me after I explained that I have a meeting and need it to iron my shirt. Horrible experience overall, and I certainly wouldn’t advise others to stay here.

This review is for Aldgate East AND London City Travelodge ”
Arrived at 11pm to check in to our double room for 2 nights to find out there were no double rooms left only twin rooms. Was informed we can be transferred to London City Travelodge which is a 10minute walk away and nicer and stay in a double room there for no fee. We arrived at London City Travelodge and were informed they haven’t received our transfer. They spent 20minutes sorting this out and feel like we were forgotten about (getting on for midnight now…). We were very tired after a long day of walking so stayed in a twin room and were informed we can move to a double room for the second night. We did not decide to move room for the second night as it is a lot of hassle. No housekeeping occurred after the first night, no fresh linen, beds not made, no clean towels or bath matts (had a wet room so not ideal), no toilet rolls topped up when only had a little bit left so had to go down and ask for one in the evening.

Acceptable”
Hi I don’t like to slate a buisness but I like to be honest . Check in opened at 3 so went and got permission to leave our bags . Explained we at jubilee party so we would be back late to be told no problem . Went back approx 11pm with no charge on phones ( our fault ) to find no staff in reception / building . After 10 mins of charging phone in reception and ready to ring a free phone number which on reception desk a young lad entered which we seen was stood with approx 6 Lads having a cigarette . This young lad then entered walked straight past us not introduced himself so we asked him if knew were any staff was . He then said he was the staff and didn’t notice we were they ( even though he at to pass us ) . On eventually checking in after 10/15 minutes we were giving a room opposite train tracks ( no warning of this when booked and running frequent till least 12am which meant no window could be left open as was very loud which resulted in the room been red hot with no air con / fan . We then went down to use a vending machine which had very limited stock and no drinks what so ever . We then asked the receptionist if possible we could have a drink n to be fair he give us a bottle of complimentary water to share . For the price I expected a lot better than we got . In my opinion for what was paid we could of got better in a much better location .
