I am so thankful to the staff of the Tropico Scuba Diving Resort for their hospitality and service. They were very friendly, respectful, and polite. They had a vast knowledge of the local area and the water surrounding the resort. My fiance and I had a wonderful time and have every intention on staying here again every time we visit. Very smoky place, every employee smokes, even in the restaurant. The one good thing is their good WiFi. It is 12 km from Dumagete-700pp from airport, ½ hour travel. There are only 4 guest rooms- number 4 is on the end with a great view of the sea, neat decor. FAN only – no TV. Rustic, Toilet is a must pour in water by bucket, you shower only in the afternoon for warm water or it is a cold shower. For you. This is not a place for a non-smoker, all common areas were filled with smoke most of the time from all the workers and guests. The owner smoked before every dive movement prepping or otherwise. If you like breakfast, this was limited to basic bread, cold scrambled eggs and bacon. If you did not prefer the buffet then you could order an omelette and pay for it additionally. The "made to order breakfast" stated in the menu was to have eggs, hashbrowns and toast, but eggs were the only available item. Keep in mind this resort is away from other food options This was a very hard resort to find, and arriving at night was even more difficult. A worker forgot to turn on the lighted resort sign on the highway, when he left for home. We spent 20 minutes searching for the resort in the dark. Very frustrating. The best thing was the hamburgers were good. There is a TV in the common area and you have some choice in what you watch. Diving is not safe, no briefing at all, negative boyancy needed for water entry. We asked about Thermalclines & what suit to wear, no info given, what we got was a bad attitude.

if you wound like a comfortable, quiet and laid-back diving vocation, this is a right place for you, enthusiasm boss, nice boat, nice crew, nice dive guide , nice dive site, i enjoy my time here. Depot is a fabulous dive site, house reef have a giant hard coral, just beware of the Titan trigger fish.

Great and friendly service”
I was at the resort for only 3 days / 2 nights, but I wish that it had been a longer stay. I didn't have time for any diving because I had other commitments, but I will schedule a dive (my first) the next time that I am in the area. Talking with the owner about his courses and the local reefs made me very interested in that. He is passionate and very knowledgable about the local area and diving. His pictures / videos of previous dives are amazing. The owner and the staff were very kind and welcoming. They were always happy to help and they were always smiling. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and the staff of this hotel was the first one which seemed interested in talking story and taking an interest in each of the people who stays there. Dumaguete is called the "City of Gentle People" because of people like the ones who own this resort. The decor of the resort, as mentioned earlier, is that of a pirate ship. The owner put a lot of time and effort into each piece used and it is very evident. If you're interested in pirates or history, this is a resort worth visiting. The decor gives the resort an ambiance and atmosphere that other (larger) resorts lack. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay here and I would recommend it without any second thoughts to friends who were interested in visiting the area.

Affordable, Clean, And A Lot Of Fun”
Simply put... had an awesome time (even decided to stay longer). Place looks like a Spanish garrison on the Caribbean, they even have cannons and a pirate styled banca ship! I'm a disabled traveler, not only my room, shower & toilet... but every room in the inn, the tavern, public restrooms, business center/classroom is all wheelchair accessible. Even has a ramp going right into the water. Resort isn't big, but it is off the highway & walled... so it is private, quiet, and overlooks the water. Bring enough family and/or friends, and the place will be yours. Walking distance from the Tampi/San Jose ferry, 15+ minutes from the airport, and 20 or 30 minutes to Dumaguete or Tanjay. Would I go back? In a heartbeat!

Great Adventure Experience”
We arrived at the Dumaguete airport from a long & tiring flight, and someone from Tropico was there with a sign with my name on it and a big smile on their face. I was happy to see them there to pick us up, get our luggage, and take us to Tropico. In 15 minutes they drove us there to Tropico, then down the driveway to the resort by the ocean. They put our luggage in our rooms for us, we were already checked-in to our rooms, and had wonderfully cold fruit drinks waiting for us in a gazebo over looking the water. Being 20 minutes out of the big cities was so much more quiet and relaxing, but close enough to not miss anything. The guys were busy cramming the next 4 days to get their PADI open water diving certs, and they passed with flying colors. Did some swimming and snorkeling myself. The ship is amazing! What a great experience. I went to Dumaguete and Tanjay to sight see and shop. We had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Très bon rapport qualité prix, patron super, ”
L'hotel est neuf, les chambres sont propres et soignées. Pour le prix c'est un excellent choix. Equipement de dernier cri pour la plongée, si vous voulez faire de la plongée c'est vraiment l'endroit idéal et aussi bien le bateau que les équipements tout est neuf et de haute qualité. A déplorer néanmoins: pas de plage à proprement dite. Un tout petit bout mais recouvert à marée haute. Pas de transats. Endroits pas du tout idéal avec des enfants en bas âges. Par contre le patron et sa femme sont très à l'écoute, on peut leur demander n'importe quoi ils font tout pour satisfaire le client. Endroit très calme et perdu, pas de shopping, pas de distributeur et ne prennent pas la CB, par contre départ pour les Twin lakes, des grottes, ext..et possiblité d'aller à Dumaguete City en bus pour 20 pesos y compris pour l'aéroport.

如果不是来考潜水证的 不推荐入住”
说实话不是很好，离杜马盖地很远，每次要坐车半个小时,而且房间里条件一般 没有热水器没有空调 灯光昏暗 蚂蚁超多，离开酒店还非要我交酒店税12%，争辩说已经在支付费用里包含了，老板还是坚持说我没有支付,没办法只好又交了643P，最关键是没有其他客人，但是老板本人还是非常热情的一个美国人

非常友善的老闆, 非常乾淨的海域, 非常有特色的飯店設計”
1. 老闆與員工非常的熱情跟友善, 所有的問題完全可以解決與幫忙. 2. 飯店雖然不大但是很有特色, 找不到第二間如此有特色的. 3. 漢堡很好吃 住三晚吃了兩顆. 4. 就算躺在床上都可以看到無敵海景. 5. 潛水船也特殊設計過, 速度很快, 一小時可以行駛超過20英里, 而且人員有限制, 不像Pure Vixx那間sea explxxxx擠到爆才出海. 6. 潛水導遊非常有經驗, 老闆也超級愛潛水, 我一人下水, 配一位instructor,配一位DM, 老闆也一起潛一起玩, 很讚 7. 潛導非常會找小東西, 由於時間關係, 一天我下了六支, 白點鯊, Jack fish, 花枝 章魚 , 微距就不用多說了 非常豐富. 8. 飯店離市區與機場約莫30幾分鐘車程, 但就是如此所以附近不會雜亂喧囂, 很適合放空, 很吵鬧的旅客就不要去破壞那個好地方了. 9. 飯店座西朝東, 清晨的海面,靜如止水. 日出從對面宿霧島與Sumilon島嶼間 升起 (看季節 但差不遠) 水中倒影令人回味. 10. 飯店小馬路對面 有小雜貨店, 餅乾水飲料啤酒 手機充值 都可以完成 11. 想到Oslob看鯨鯊, 從飯店門口招攔 嘟嘟車 45 peso就可以到碼頭, 非常方便 12. 飯店擁有的House Reef 水深到腳踝 就看到章魚了. 13. House reef夜潛 也是非常豐富 怪東西一堆. 14. I will back again.
