Fabulous hotel”
One night stop over but such wonderful experience. Friendly staff, helped us with booking buses and boats. Very comfy bed. Wifi struggled to work, that was the only negative. Has we asked, no doubt they would have fixed it. We just weren’t there long enough!

Nice place. Beware their Tours”
Totally recommended for staying there. Don’t take their Floating Market Tour as it doesn’t exist but they’ll happily take your money not to show you it!

Excellent budget hotel with balcony”
Locate in the town center, nearby to Chau Doc market and Futa bus station. Motorbike for rent 150k/day. Helpful staff, very clean room. Strong hot water shower.

Great location, but loud”
It’s right in the middle of things which is great, but easy to hear all the motorcycles honking all the time. So if you know that going in, it’s great.

Convenient location close to bus terminal and walking distance to ferry terminal. Nice to have a veranda looking at a market.

For budget travelers, it should be considered”
What I like: - Great location: it is opposite Chau Doc market and surrounded by stores, coffees and restaurants. - Affordable price with room having balcony. - Light in room is enough bright. - Friendly and helpful staffs, there are bicycle for using as well. What I don't like: - Furniture is somehow downgraded which are not-well maintained. - My mattress has ants and some bugs. - The hotel is not 24/24 opened, they close maybe after 10pm. So, when I comeback after 10pm, I have to wait for a staffs to open the door for me.

Decent place to stay near ferry drop off”
Decent room near enough to ferry dock and close to bus station. Lots of food stalls and restaurants nearby.

Not very satisfied”
The location is good. Opposite to Châu Đốc market. Staff are nice. The room is small and the toilet has smell. Old facilities. Won’t come back to this hotel. Will try another one with higher budget.

Worst ever!”
The only good point about this hotel was its location. It is situated in the heart of the city. However, the owner was a bit rude. He kept on insisting i didnt pay for the room even when i showed him my receipt on agoda. He rose his voice again and again insisting i did not. In the end, im tired listening to him so i paid double for the room i alrrady did.

Great hotel in a lovely little town.”
I was delighted when I arrived at the Trung Nguyen Hotel in the fascinating town of Chau Doc. The rooms are clean and spacious at an excellent price. Chau Doc itself is a charming place and I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay. Probably the best two days of my month long trip to Vietnam.

Clean and good location for a short stay”
We stayed at Trung Nguyen for just one night in Chau Doc. The hotel is very clean and we liked our room. We were able to find the hotel pretty easily by just asking people after we arrived on a boat from Phnom Penh. They didn't speak much English, but were able to point us in the right direction until we found another hotel where we asked again. The only negative was that the bus ticket to Can Tho was $6, when the actual price was 85,000 VND. I didn't like that the hotel charged more when they booked it for us. I'm not sure how to avoid this in the future.

good service, overall decent for one night”
i sent an email to the hotel beforehand checking that they would provide a double bed for my wife and me, which they confirmed, and at the same time they included a lot of useful information on chau doc and transport to/from ho chi minh city and phnom penh, which turned out to be quite useful, as it included bus information not in my lp guidebook (we took the suggested hung cuong bus from cholon [chinatown] in district 5 in hcmc, which was quite comfortable and arrived two blocks from the hotel). the hotel itself was decent. what i liked: - friendly staff with good english - upon our arrival at 5pm we were easily able to book a boat to phnom penh for the next morning at the front desk - cheap room price - small but charming room with a big balcony overlooking the town market what i didn't find so appealing: - the pillows were hard and uncomfortable to sleep on - the hotel didn't have much of a "local" feel to it with all western tourists as guests (i was hoping for more of a "small town" experience, but i suppose you're not going to get that at a major tourist border crossing) - breakfast was an overall unpleasant experience (it wasn't included in the room price, so we ordered it the night before and paid extra for it--as it went, all the guests in the hotel were departing for boats at the same time, so the breakfast area was crowded, there weren't enough tables to sit, and the food was slow in coming and not a good value for the money--i'd suggest just eating something at a local restaurant nearby or preparing something the night before) so, some good and some bad, but decent overall, especially for just the night.

Convenient, friendly, simple.”
We stayed 2 nights because we had read that Chau Doc was a pretty decent little Vietnamese town. We weren't disappointed. As most tourists are simply coming or going between Cambodia and Vietnam they don't have a chance to see much of this town or the surrounding areas, like Sam Mountain. We had enough time to rent bicycles, visit the market and waterfront at various times of day, check out family life in back alleys and take photos everywhere. Awesome. We generally stay in nicer hotels than this so we found that Trung Nguyen was pretty basic and not super clean. But we were pretty comfortable (the AC worked great!), and considering there aren't many options other than the super-expensive Victoria, this hotel worked out fine. Honestly, the frontdesk girl, Diem ("yeem") is amazing. She has experience in the tourist industry and it shows. Her English is good, she can arrange everything you need (boat tickets with Hang Chau to Cambodia in our case, cyclo visit to Sam Mountain too), with a smile. She's awesome and it's worth it to stay at this hotel to be taken care of by her. The breakfast is a bit basic for reasonable in price. Like others have said, it can be a little crazy in the early morning in the lobby as people gather for the boats. Trying to fit in breakfast may not be feasible and there definitely aren't enough seats for everyone. We bought food the night before to bring with us and I'd recommend that.

Great hotel in a great location”
We arrived in Chau Doc and struggled to arrange a taxi but the receptionist arranged one for us when we called which was a great relief as they didn't speak good English and the bus station is in the south of town. We paid for the taxi. The service from the hotel was wonderful. One of the warmest receptionist I have met. She arranged onward travel. The hotel was very well located for boat services to Phnom Penh and Can Tho. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were lovely with comfortable beds. Although we didn't have breakfast included, it was reasonably priced and had to be ordered the night before. Being close to the market the noise starts quite early.

Nice hotel with good service”
We stayed only one night in the room but the stay was perfect to discover the city of chau doc. The receptionist was really helpful. The location is in the center of the city, max 10 min walk from where the boat stops from Cambodgia. Everything needed was nearby. Room quite new and really clean.

Great hotel but no breakfast”
This was a perfect hotel for the price, right in the heart of the city and great for the one night we spent between chau doc and Phnom Penh. The staff was incredibly helpful with booking our boat trip and giving a restaurant recommendation but when we left early for the boat we didn't get any breakfast.

Excellent staff and very clean hotel”
The friendly, competent, and attentive staff were the defining characteristic of this one night stay. The hotel is also very obviously well-maintained and the room was very clean. The location is very good, across from the main market and a few blocks from the riverfront. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in Chau Doc.

Nice clean hotel in great location ”
Nice hotel in the centre of Chau Doc right next to the market. Friendly staff, great room with really hot shower (if you need it?) and balcony overlooking the market. The road outside is a bit noisy but calms down overnight. Hotel lobby had a fridge stacked with cheap beer and cold water.. a big plus for a thirsty cyclist! Recommended.

Good place in a small town”
there a only a few places to stay in chau doc but for a reasonable sleep and ok price trung ticks all the boxes. rooms are smallish, bathrooms not great but tv and wifi are good and to be honest once you've walked around the market there isn't a lot to do in chau doc before to catch boat to cambodia/bus to hcmc which normally involves an early morning start. trung also do breakfasts which is a bonus for that early morning.
