Best non-resort hotel in Isla Verde”
Great location, best staff. Near quiet beaches where locals use, not swarmed by tourists. About 10-15 mins to Old San Juan by car ride and less than 10 to airport. Decent numbers of local restaurants nearby; their Italian restaurant at the property is surprisingly excellent. The only weak point is their WiFi quality is too poor to do zoom meetings. Use your own hotspot if you have one. Oh, breakfast can also be much better for the price as well. Better to skip it and save money. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and will return whenever I can get a good rate.

I plan on staying at this hotel when I go back to that area, it is super clean and the staff is amazing and helpful, pool is beautiful, the bartender there is wonderful and super friendly!

The staff was very helpful and friendly, even when trying to enforce rules such as having a mask on. Especially loved one of the women that worked at the front desk (believe her name was Jaelid if I’m not mistaken) who played along with my friendly antics yet was still able to keep it professional

I would give the Tryp a high rating if the carpet in hallway and room were changed. Also, room were cleaned every three days. However, Cathy from housekeeping, Laura at the front desk and Johnsen were fantastic.

This hotel was in a great location - across the street from the beach and within walking distance of several restaurants. We felt totally safe, and were happy to wander around looking at the restaurants and enjoying the beach. The pool was also nice. The room was a tad small, and the bathroom had a sliding door, but it had everything we needed. So many usb ports and electrical outlets were in the room! water pressure was great. It was around a $20 cab ride to old san juan, which we loved, too. Overall, I would stay there again!

Charged extra, no shower in the morning ”
Front desk insisted on charging 27% taxes even though the agoda booking clearly stated all taxes and fees are paid. They charged card and did not budge on 27%. Then would not let us check into room for 3 hours…because reservation and check in was at 3. No budging. The shower did not turn on in the morning. No water at all. Also no drinking water or bottles in the room. Even for purchase in the room.

Well situated hotel very close to the beach and with a few nice restaurants not far away. Rooms are clean and spacious, facilities nice and staff generally very helpful and friendly.
