Perfect place for otakus”
Had a comfortable stay in this place. The double room has good size for solo travelers. I am a light sleeper and sound from the passing trains can be heard but I was able to sleep comfortably without earplugs. Will definitely stay here again when I return to Tokyo.

Great value”
Staff is very friendly and location is great for going in/ out of Akihabara. It’s about as loud as you can expect being under the rail but I quickly got used to it and honestly didn’t really notice after a while. The hotel does provide earplugs if needed. The rooms were bigger than I’ve had in previous stays in Japan which was a plus. Overall great stay!

Great value but noise a major drawback”
It's really great value for its price given it has sufficient amenities and a good location, but soundproofing needs to be better since i could hear noise from my neighbours at night quite clearly which was a little disturbing, and perhaps they could have informed us beforehand on Agoda that the train above the room makes a lot of noise throughout the day

This hotel is very clean, in a great location, and has a cafe right on site! It's very unique that it's built under the railway, and there is a little bit of noise from the trains but not as much as you would expect. Our room was very compact but perfectly cozy. The only negative is that you can hear other guests through the walls pretty well.

Great place to stay in Tokyo (if you don't mind the noise when sleeping) JR Akihabara station is just a few minutes walk and other subway line. Place is clean, cosy and spacious as seen in pictures. Staff are also friendly although the room doesn't provide complimentary coffee and water, there is water heater and ref inside the room though and paper cups in the reception which is also a cafe where you can ask for ice. Place is really great but was not able to sleep well. I can hear the train until late night and start really early, but they do provide earplug just doesn't work for me. The hot and cold shower is also a bit difficult to use because it's changing temperature even when I am not doing anything, one minute temperature just right then suddenly will get cold then when you try to change it, it will get really hot, but I am still satisfied with my stay.

Location, clean and near station”
I travelled with my 58yr old mom. A good location. Just 100 steps from exit of akihabara . Clean in the sense thats its a new hotel. But unfortunately they do not clean your rooms. So for the 3 nights our room was uncleaned. (Hotel policy) It was near akihabara shops so the temptation to play and shop cant be avoided. You can actually hear the train passing. But i was not a bother to us. The engineer in me find it fascinating that our room was enclosed with a girder and post. The rooms are keyless. Qr codes are used to open door. Something new.

Does What It Says On The Tin”
This is a Hotel in Akihabara, which is directly under the tracks for the Yamanote and Keihin Tohoku Railway lines. It's a short walk from Akihabara Station's Electric Town South gate, which puts it right in the heart of one of Tokyo's iconic entertainment districts. But it is a hotel, which is under 2 of Tokyo's busiest railways. Like it says in the name. Unfortunately, no amount of sound deadening can keep all the noise out, and between the two lines, you'll have a train running over your head every 90 seconds on average. The trains do stop around midnight, but they resume operation bright and early at about 4am. (Which is still dark outside) The hotel also directly opposes a fire station, so any emergency calls are going to generate some noise. If you aren't the type who's immediately sold based on the name of the hotel, don't book a stay, you won't have a good time. But if you are the type who reads the words "Under Railway Hotel Akihabara" and thinks "that's what I want" then by all means, stay the night and get a maple waffle and latte set in the morning. It's certainly an interesting place.

The room is spacious for family and location near to JR Station and room is modern with good compact concept, only sound of the train passing by can affect a light sleeper but overall it was not very loud despite we stayed below

The name fits; it is under the railway. You hear trains often throughout the day, but after 10pm the train sounds slowed down. The trains did not keep any of us awake through the night. Also, the hotel provides ear plugs (which we did not use). Basic hotel, but fit the needs; warm safe beds at a great price.

City , Trains, and Fire Trucks oh my!”
I give this stay 3.8 out if Five. First lets start with the overall design. When you walk in, you feel like you are in a cafe filled with warm light and industrial accents. It is very inviting and makes you feel at home. As you go thru the threshold to the resident side of this establishment, it feels like you are in a parking garage and outside. That is because you are Outside and in a parking garage like space.. The rooms are situated under the train tracks across from the fire station in the open but concealed lot. If it is cold or too hot in your room don't worry, the heat and A/C work great. Almost too great. We felt like the Heatmeiser was blowing hot air on our faces at times. This hotel is situated under the train so be prepared on hearing those train wheels all night until 1 or so. The fire station across the street does not disappoint, there are drills and sirens that will go off now and then and you will hear those, but in our opinion, with a child under two, those "city noises" though surprisingly loud were a welcoming soundscape that lulled us to sleep. If you need some extra help falling asleep the hotel provides ear protection. The amenities were nice except for the brown thin towels. It kind of makes you question how the hotel cleans them if they smell a little of mildew when wet, but all in all this hotel is in a great location right by Akihabara station. A hotel with a nice location and price. industrial/ikea-esc feel.

Found our new place!”
It was a bit of the walk from the station but now I know where it is and we were happy with their place and service and staff, we will be definitely recommend and going back to use this place again in future!! We were especially happy that they could hold our bags for our weekend trip to Osaka. Being able to leave our bags with them for our weekend trip and coming back to the place on Sunday was very helpful and convenient for us.
