We definitely had a good stay at Unwind, and there were nice wines and cocktails at Ignis. It's located about a 10-mins walk from the Otaru train station. There is a slight slope on the road between the train station and the hotel, it would be a bit hard when you walk in the snow and bring your suitcase back to the station. you shall keep some spare time for walking back to the station.

the kids love the loft - there were 2 single beds there. the hotel is just two block away from Otaru Canal. Surrounded by a lot of eateries and walking distance to Sakaimachi (the main shopping street in Otaru). Overall love every details there. A small suggestion though - wondering if the hotel can consider adding a cloth hanger/hook in the bathroom?

Beautiful and clean hotel. Staffs are so kin. Most of all, the bar is great. Bar has lots of rare and unique Japanese whisky. You must visit that bar of you like whisky.

Cozy and handsome hotel”
Unwind is my favorite hotel in Otaru. The building is a handsome Art Deco style. The staff is courteous, young and energetic. The location is perfectly situated near the attractions and also walking distance to the train station and many, many restaurants.

The room is like no other! Although the room was not too big there was a small sliding door separating the entry & bathroom and the bedroom. Spacious enough for 2 persons and 3 huge luggage.

a bit far (about 10 min) from the station, and that’s the only bad thing I can say about this awesome hotel - slightly larger and a lot better than most business/3 star hotels in Japan), free all you can drink wine for guests between 5-6:30 pm daily - friendly, professional staff, great amenities - what’s not to like?

Had a super nice stay at Unwind. Location is less than 10 min walk to Otaru station. Breakfast was fancy and tasty, staff were all so helpful and friendly. Worth every penny of your money.

Love this hotel, its my favorite in Otaru. I traveling alone sometimes and this hotel make me feels like home... (It does give me the feeling like when i was living in Bangkok...condominium) And yes, love the high tea breakfast!!!

Modern, hotel with projector screen and Netflix! ”
This was one very modern hotel, the decor was beautiful! I love the projector screen idea, you can sign in to your Netflix account and watch the movies playing on your wall! everything was clean, the room was in good size too, not too small. The bar downstair was also pretty nice! :) The location was near the canal, and short walk to the main shopping streets with all the restaurant and the attractions in the area. There is a small car park just behind the hotel, so be sure to contact the hotel to see if there is one for you, if you come with a car.

Love the interior & exterior design of this boutique hotel. We enjoyed the hotel complimentary wines from 5-7pm so much. Very strategic location, 5 mins walk to Otaru Canal, surrounded by so many eateries & family mart is just opposite the hotel. The best part is our room is given 2 smart phones with date to bring out for directions & entertainment. Parking is available with fees imposed. Romantic breakfast in hi tea style. Will definitely come back to stay in this lovely hotel again.
