    Pleasant”

25 m swimming pool, good restaurant, attentive staff.

Great place to stay if you do business or have another good reason to be in Tandag, which is not the most attractive town in the world. Internet (wifi and only available in the lobby) was a joke - mostly dead but when it did work for a few moments it was too slow for even basic email. Luckily there is an internet café close by. Breakfast is simple but dinner menu is fair to good. Room rates a little steep however there is really no alternative in Tandag. I'm about to make my third booking this month at this hotel.

    Great location-lacking refinements.”

Value, safety, decent room except for single beds-no doubles, ants will eliminate any food left out-even packaged food.

Typical Pinoy hotel...charging for every little item-extra towel-charge, breakfast was basic, extra was a charge. The view was very nice-however, the entire beach was a disaster-filthy, sand covered entirely of debris and trash, but hidden by a seawall until you went over to the wall to look at the ocean. Disappointed that while a nice place-deceptive until you actually are on the property. But, in their favor, the alternative in Tandag-there isn't one.

    Reasonably good stay...with some blemishes...”

    Lobby. Ocean View. Staff

The Villa Maria Louisa makes a nice first impression. It has a very nice big lobby with a view outward to the ocean. The front desk staff, as well as the rest of the rest of the staff, are very friendly. A few things I did not like about this hotel are as follows: The included breakfast was by far the most miserly I have received while in the Philippines. It consisted of one egg, one small piece of luncheon meat, and rice, along with a choice of either powdered juice or powdered 3-in-1 coffee. It was laughable. After I arrived back in the room after a long hot day out sightseeing. My room was not made up It was already 6pm. I called down to the front desk, and they informed me that they only make up rooms if the customer tells them to do so ahead of time. In almost 6 straight months of staying in hotels in the philippines, that was a first for me. The hotel advertises internet in the lobby area on their website and on agoda. When i walked in, there was a sign saying "internet temporarily unavailable". I thought maybe it would be up in a few minutes, so I asked the front desk when it would be back online. I was informed it had been out for a "few months" and they had no idea when it would available again. So...there is NO INTERNET at this hotel. My hotel room was plagued by mosquitos, making it difficult to sleep due to numerous bites. The Maria Louisa is the only nicer hotel for 100 miles in any direction. Perhaps they think they do not have to be at their best to attract customers. A little more effort would make their hotel a lot nicer however.

    Great value, nice hotel”

Swimming pool, friendly staff, great location

We spent three nights at the hotel. Very pleased with the price and the quality. Great value for the money. Right on the beach although it would be a challenge and possibly dangerous to swim there. The rooms were OK. Friendly staff who go out of their way to help. The swimming pools were great. Two pools, a lap pool and a family pool, each with their own water slide. The pool is complimentary for two guests per room, with a daily fee for additional guests. We had a problem with this since there were more than two in our party. All hotel guests should have complimentary access in my opinion. There is an area next to the pool for picnics that can be rented to non-hotel guests. One of these has a karaoke set, so the noise from this can get annoying. We would certainly return to the hotel if we visited Tandaq again...

    OK but watch your valuables”

    25 meter swimming pool

This was my third stay this year. If you do have to stay in Tandag, there is no reasonable alternative. My previous reviews were generally positive, but this time someone stole PHP 3000 from my room. No sign of forced entry; I suspect house keeping. Management said they would review CCTV tapes - but the CCTV camera in the hallway had been ripped off its cables - so fat chance. Just don't leave valuable things in you room.

It’s was OK, just bad Filipino attitude all around”

Arrived at 8am as already informed. There is only one flight a day so guests arrive early. Maybe only 6 people in the hotel staying yet they wanted 400 peso per hour for early check in, the room was ready. No choice but to pay. Restaurant food was actually good, but service was very slow and staff need training in friendliness, all very miserable. The whole place needs renovating but there is little choice in Tandag where to stay. Would I stay again, yes, only as there is nowhere else

A great event venue, but not my idea of an ideal hotel”

This hotel came highly recommended by locals, so my expectations were high. Turns out, room I booked via Agoda wasn’t cozy at all, but a dreary narrow viewless little space with two dinky beds. I’d be embarrassed to have a visitor there. The shower hose leaked badly and sprayed water into my face and on the floor outside the shower area. When I asked at the reception for a room with a bigger bed, I was in for a surprise: the price for a “matrimonial room” with breakfast was going to be about double the price I paid for my room—P4235, to be exact. This price seems to me quite outrageous, especially for an unmistakably poverty-stricken area. The plated breakfast was good, and the pool—which, to my surprise, closes as early as 8pm—is big and impressive. There’s also a very scenic beach. But there seemed to be very few guests in the hotel, which is clearly not suitable for the budget traveller.

    suprised”

After reading the reviews that had been put on the site I was not looking forward to this stay but if i am honest it was not bad and I could not fault it. The first night we ate in the restaurant and we had a very nice meal, we did not have to wait long for the food to come after ordering which was nice. We upgraded out room on arrival which the front desk were very helpful. The grounds of the hotel were also nice and they backed onto the beach which was not up to much, not hotels fault. All in it was a pleasant stay and I would stay again.

    Terrible breakfast ”

location, clean bed, view is very nice

I stayed in this hotel 3 nights with friends. We had two rooms. Hotel location and building is nice, beds very clean but breakfast was terrible. First day 08.15 we could not find anything to eat at breakfast room. All food was finished. We ordered toast bread and butter but rubber bread came. Next morning we went to breakfast room at 07.00 they offered rice and dry fish and 3 all in one Nescafe. Third day we did our breakfast out. Air con has no remote control.we could not turn off air con. We had freezing nights. I am so sad all these things I thing hotel needs professional management.

The good part was we were able to have an early check in at 6am. The second part was that receptionist was not properly trained on how to handle online bookings. When we checking out I was asked who will be charged for the additional bed that was added that I already paid when I booked online. When I asked it to be checked on their computer the staff just said it's okay and didn't bother to check it. There should be complimentary water for that room price. There's no towel for the foot in the bathroom.
