Good choice for a short stay”
The hotel stands in a good position: few minutes far from the Wakayamashi station, in a quiet area, with a combini just on the way from the station. The Wakayama castle was also visible from my room and it takes about a 10-minutes walk to get there. The room was fine, even though rather small, and not completely soundproof, hence it would be most suitable for a short stay. Toiletteries and many other supplies can be found at the reception, in addition to the essentials already in the room. The free breakfast was rather good: it is a Japanese-style breakfast, so no cakes or buscuits (but there were coffee, juices, yogurt and some cereals). However, it seemed home-made, thus I really enjoyed it and I did not miss the European-style breakfast at all. Beware: the hotel did not have (or at least, I did not see) its name translated in English/romaji, so it was kind of a guess that it was the right place, but Google map was on point and the Fuji picture helped.

Basic place to stay”
We stayed one night because it was close to the ferry terminal and we were headed to Tokushima. It’s a basic hotel and fit our needs. Nice helpful staff and clean. However if you’re looking for a newer or updated place try somewhere else. Breakfast was Japanese home style cooking and satisfying. My only disappointment was that we had to stay in a smoking room. I believe there are no non smoking rooms. We asked several times and my best guess not being fluent in Japanese that this hotel has no non smoking rooms.

Location is good, about 5-minute walk from metro station. It was in a residential area; there were not much entertainment around or I should say Wakayama was a peaceful town for relaxation. Facilities were a bit old but clean.

the hotel is close to JR wakayamashi station and easy to find. the room and the washroom are too small but the staff are nice and helpful when we ask for a wi-fi router. the most highlight of our stay is there is a wonderful japanese bar which just take 5 min walk from the hotel.

i have a standart breakfast, just onigiri and sashimi. but it's oke with the value we paid. basicly everythings very standart. you know it's just 2 stars hotel. not much comment i can say! yah.. you know 2 stars hotel facillity and standart comfortable. it's okay like we paid.

Not recommend”
We tried to look for non-smoking room in Agoda but the offer was only smoking room. When arrived at the hotel and requested to change to non-smoking, the front reception said ALL ROOMS are smoking rooms. We sprayed a lot of deodorizer provided but the cigarette smell still existed. The room space is tiny and feel cramped for 2 people. We have travelled in Japan for 8 days and had some big luggages and it was not enough space to lay them down even a single one. Breakfast is fair but not variety. Additional 700 yens are charged for car parking eventhough we are the hotel guest. In conclusion, the major comment is if you are allergic or feel unfavorable to cigarette smell, this hotel is not recommended.
