This hotel is situated at the excellent location! The hot spring is a few minutes walk, which is good!! Also, there are sights around the hotel!

We got a room with a sea view. Unfortunately, the swimming pool is under maintenance. The kids were very disappointed. But, the hotel provided a free ticket to the nearest onsen. So we enjoyed it very much. The hotel also located near the amusement park.

Great hotel with good tourist location”
Hotel very clean and have excellent marina n sea facing view. Hotel next to theme park and fish market which we had great viewing of tuna cutting. Had good ramen at Ide shoten, one of the best ramen in whole of Japan, at Wakaya city centre.

Do expect many a la carte options ”
Booked for large bed to share with small kids but ended up barely a double bed size and smelly. Request for changing to a twin bed room but became a room upgrade (extra fee); almost got charged for child breakfast at check out even it should be included with room fee, luckily the manager checked and waived at last.. Upside is it’s really close to fish market and there’s hot spring coupon.

Nice and Convenient Spot”
The hotel has a very good sea view. Next to the hotel is a hot fountain spring since the hotel does not have one itself, you need to walk over to the next door for it, free entrance for the hotel resident. Theme park and seafood/fish market is very close to the hotel where kids can enjoy the ride and people can enjoy the fresh seafood/fish BBQ. Free parking is provided from the hotel but the vehicular entrance is very small without any eye catching signage, I have missed the entrance for my first time on arrival personally.

Wakayama city hotel is located in a very secluded spot overlooking the sea near the Kuroshio market. The hotel is clean, big rooms with a separate shower and toilet. Breakfast spread was fabulous, the only snag is the buses back to hotel from jr wakayama station stops their service at 8pm. You have to take a local train back to JR Kainan station , which is the nearest & hop on a taxi back to the hotel. For those who like a bit of calm & serenity, this will be a good choice..not forgetting very courteous staff .

Definitely not worth the price”
I got to my room and noticed the couch was covered in stains and the bed smelt musty/moldy. They changed my room, however the second room had the same problems, but not as bad. For the price, this hotel is definitely not worth it. Also, it’s location basically forces you to eat at their restaurants which are expensive and don’t have many options (the breakfast was good). Pros: includes free entry to a nice onsen close by and the friendliness of the staff.

Worth every penny”
The rooms, equipped with huge windows, have amazing views of the garden and the sea. Japan's pride-- the onsen/spa is just a 2-min walk away. The hotel staff's service is exceptionally courteous and considerate. Because of these, Wakayama has become our favorite place to visit, thanks to Marina City Hotel :-) .

I think the hotel refurbished when i’m staying with them. The rooms and bathtub and everything is so clean and new. Also, they were having a 3 months Christmas Market or something, which have beautiful lightings, and we received tickets for free during our stay! It was fantastic and we love it so much staying in Marina City Hotel! We did not go to city center as we just wanted to enjoy the view and breeze for the 2 nights. Also enjoying our free onsen every night. Everything is just walking distance! Kuroshio Market, fruits market, amusement park...

Location is not difficult to reach, route 42 and 121 bus from Wakayama city. Free coupon for nice hot spring nearby. Staff is helpful with English speaking. Room is large and tidy, with balcony for nice seaview. Few choices of Resturants inside hotel, and more choices outside. Nearby fish market and fruit market with Tuna cutting show.

Clean and tidy, room is slightly packed for 3 ppl during my trip, but is spacious as a double room...brkfast is fair with fair variety; good value for price. Onsen entrance fee also included (free unlimited entry for two days) Can consider if you don't want to rush in and out of marina city... Down side- onsen only open after 10am Everyday

The hotel is well located near Kuroshio market, nice hot spring (which is free for hotel guests), and a theme park. It is more of a leisure hotel than a place for doing business because it is located well far from downtown Wakayama

Excellent hotel with full equiped facilities”
I like the hotel a lot because the excellent view from the hotel can see the yatch boat park at their own private pier. Plus the full facilities like hot spring nearby, fresh fish market with great atmosphere can enjoy the Japanese style BBQ n sashimi. Great place for coupes or families! But the hotel is far from city, if u not drive for the trip, then I am not suggest.
